I still can't believe we lost Matthew Perry last year. It still feels like a bad dream, and one I wish we could all wake up from, as he truly was a beacon of light and one who could make you laugh and pick your spirits up, every time you sat down to watch him play Chandler on this hit series, Friends. I will not like, I first started watching the series because of him, and then slowly fell in love with the other cast members. But, he always had me laughing until I was tearing up, and even to this day, I will stop flipping through the channels when I come upon a Friends episode, or even a movie he starred in, as I know he will make me smile.
Over the years, I have bought and collected the individual complete season releases of Friends, but always hoped that a box set would release so that I could display with my favorite Friends memorabilia. Finally the wait is over, and now I have the Friends: The Complete Series on 4K Ultra HD -- all ten seasons -- to display and not worry I will ruin by watching over and over again or scratching a disc. Can you believe that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Friends? First, boy do I feel old, and "Wow" it is crazy that it is still as popular as it was when it first aired back in September of 1994. Each new generation stumbles upon this iconic series and falls in love with it, and new merchandise and memorabilia keeps coming out and selling out. Just the other day I grabbed a new 2025 Friends calendar for the new year, right after I bought a Friends advent calendar to have fun counting down the days until Christmas with my girls. Friends is one of those shows that will never go out of style, and one they don't need to come back and do a reboot or special movie, as we have so many great episodes that spanned ten seasons to enjoy time and again, without ever getting bored of them. And, now with the passing of Matthew Perry, each time we sit and watch and episode or two, we can't help but remember what an amazing actor and person he was and how he will be forever missed.
