I was looking for a new series to binge this summer, and a couple friends of mine recommended The Gilded Age to me.  While I had heard about this HBO series, I never watched an episode. But, after having friends rave about it, and watching the trailer for the first season, I watched the first episode and was hooked.  And in record time I was done with season one and moved onto season 2.  Wow, this series is so good!  Not only is the star studded cast amazing, but this historical drama has storylines that pull you in and have you engaged and eager to see what happens next, each and every episode.  I can see why this series was nominated with six Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama series for this recent second series.  

As soon as I started watching The Gilded Age, I had to get my parents hooked on it, as they, too, love period and historical dramas and I knew they would love this series featuring Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, and Morgan Spector, just to name a few.  Like me, as soon as the first episode began and they started to watch it, my parents were hooked, and had to binge both the first and second season, and were always calling me or sending me messages telling me why they this episode or could I believe the story line and the many twists and turns.  

I was so excited when the complete second season was released on DVD back in early October, as I knew like the first complete season release, that this one would contain bonus content that was a must watch with fans.  With over 20 pieces of bonus content including never-before-seen featurettes, this recent DVD release is a must own and watch for fans of The Gilded Age.  I ended up picking up the complete first season after binging it this summer, and now have the second season to add to my collection, which I hope will continue to grow as the years go on, and more and more award-winning seasons are released.  If you are or know someone who is a fan of this historic drama, I highly recommend you pick up the The Gilded Age: The Complete Second Season on DVD today. It contains all eight full-length episodes and so much bonus content that is not to be missed.
