My daughter just finished her first college course, Introduction to Animation. In the course, she learned the different styles of animations and was able to try her hand at each. She really liked stop motion and claymation animation, and was excited to see the professor includes clips from some of her favorite Wallace & Gromit shorts in the course. And, she was even more excited to learn that her professor worked on an episode of Chicken Run, which my daughter also loves. Once the class was over, my daughter was looking forward to re-watching some of her favorite Wallace & Gromit specials and short movies. But, before she could look through her DVD collection to pull her Wallace & Gromit stuff, I surprised her with the Wallace & Gromit: The Complete Cracking Collection, which released in October from Shout! Factory.
This recent release contains four cracking half-hour specials, and 10 short films. They include: "A Grand Day Out," "The Wrong Trousers," "A Close Shave," "A Matter of Loaf and Death," and "Cracking Contraptions." These are all great Wallace & Gromit specials and shorts, and ones that my daughter has seen countless times and loves watching time and again. She loved how they were all included in this collection, and even mentioned that the sound was better with this new release, compared to previous Wallace & Gromit DVD releases, which she was excited for.
