I found the perfect gift for gamers who love to cook and bake when they aren't gaming -- "The Video Game Chef". This cookbook made especially for gamers in mind contains 76 recipes based on popular and cult video games from the 80's to today's top games. Each recipe is easy to make and follow along the recipe thanks to colorful illustrations and recipe notes -- so, this cookbook is perfect for both kids and adults, and all kitchen skill levels.
When I saw the "The Video Game Chef" cookbook I knew just to enlist to help me review it -- both my youngest daughter and my husband, as they are the biggest gamers in our house and would know all the games mentioned in this cookbook. As soon as my daughter saw this cookbook, she couldn't help but smile as next to gaming she loves to cook and bake. She liked how this unique cookbook combined two of her favorite loves into one. After sitting down and going through the cookbook, flagging what seemed like almost all of the 76 recipes, she was ready to get to baking with the help of her dad.
Over the past couple of weeks my husband and daughter have been making time each night to make something from this cookbook. So far, they have already made The Legend of Zelda's Red Potion, Final Fantasy XV's Kenny's Original Recipe, Resident Evil's Jill Sandwich, Silent Hill 2's Butter Cake and a super tasty Minecraft's Suspicious Stew. This cookbook was created by Cassandra Reeder, AKA the Geeky Chef, and she knocked it out of the park with all the amazing recipes, as each one they have made so far has been a hit, and one we will definitely be making again and again.
With the holidays fast approaching, why not consider picking up "The Video Game Chef" for that gamer in your life? While it may be hard for them to walk away from gaming, once they do and start making tasty treats, meals and snacks with the cookbook, they will want to challenge themselves like my husband and daughter have, to make all 76 recipes, as they celebrate their love of the different video games that fill the pages of this video-gamed themed cookbook.
