In addition to picking up water-based acrylic painting, my oldest daughter also has gotten into watercolor painting. She really likes to paint nature and landscape scenes.  So, while looking for step-by-step paint along books, I was excited when I stumbled upon "Bold and Beautiful Watercolor Skies." This is a 30-day art challenge book that teaches novice painters how to plaint things like stunning clouds, galaxies, sunsets and more through step-by-step tutorials in a wonderfully put together paperback book.  This book is dubbed a master class for beginners, and after doing some of the lessons alongside my daughter, I have to agree, as I am not artistically inclined and was proud of what I was able to turn out, by following each step-by-step instruction within each lesson.

I really like how this book is set up with a new art challenge to tackle to each day for 30 days.  Even if you find yourself missing a day or two, you can dive back in and even complete a few paintings in a sitting as each lesson is only a few pages each.  My daughter really liked this book, and said it was laid up and taught even better than some online and in person painting classes she has taken.  She likes how she can go along at her own pace, and is provided with tips and tricks including watercolor washes, and colors value and hue using the color wheel.  

This step-by-step paint along watercolor book would make a great gift idea for those artistic people in your life who love to paint, or like trying new things.  By the end of the 30 days or 30 projects, people will be more skilled in watercolor painting, when they use this book. Highly recommend!
