Being a homeschooling parent and parent of two hands on learners, I am always on the lookout for fun gifts and products that I know will not only entertain my girls, but also offer an educational value to their play. My girls LOVE building sets, especially ones that they don't come with directions and let them explore and imagine as they construct and play. Even now with them being in their tweens and early teens, they still love grabbing a construction set from the toy shelf, or ask for a build set when we are out at a store. Rainy days and soon to be snow days are perfect days to enjoy construction sets like those from Geomag. Geomag's magnetic construction sets are not only tons of fun, but they also offer an educational aspect to play time, for kids of all ages.
Recently, I was sent two of Geomag's new magnetic construction sets for my girls to help me review. They were quick to want to help me review them, as they love this brand, and already own a few of their marble run and gravity track sets. They love using their problem solving skills to figure out how to piece together the magnetic pieces to make successful runs, or in the case of these two new sets our way, attach them in such a way that they form cool and endless 3D structures. And, along the way they get to apply what they know about magnetism as they piece together the magnetic rods and steel spheres to create different shapes to admire.
With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to make sure Geomag was on your radar as you start to shop for educational gifts for your kids. Yes, toys are always nice to unwrap at Christmas, but we all know how quickly the newness of must have Christmas toys lasts before these oftentimes expensive toys start getting boring, before they are put down and no longer played with again. Well, you will not have to worry about this happening with Geomag magnetic construction sets, as these are one constuction set that will grow with your kids, and never get old. Like I said, there are countless 3D shapes and structures that you can build with each set. And, now with new sets like glitter and glow-in-the-dark, it makes creative and imaginative play even more fun when your child sits down to build with their Geomag construction sets.
Like I mentioned above, I was sent two sets from the folks at Geomag to check out -- their new Glitter 60-piece set, as well as their glow 60-piece sets. My oldest daughter was quick to grab the glow set, while my youngest daughter who is all about bling and being stylish quickly grabbed the Glitter set to build with.

We have had these sets for a couple months now, and they continue to be played with almost on a weekly basis. For the past couple weeks, they have given my girls something to do while they were sick and didn't feel like doing much, but got bored easily watching television. The girls gathered up these and other Geomag sets, and sat together at the dining room table creating and showiing off their new 3D creations. I loved seeing them enjoy each others' company, and also see what they imagined and what they were actually able to make when they connected the different magnetic rods and steel spheres. Never once did I hear the girls say they were bored, or ask for something to do when playing with the different Geomag sets. Instead, they were talking about new ways to play with the construction sets, by creating tunnels for their stuffed animals to go through, or making holders to hold their pens and other writing supplies in their room.
You may laugh when you the age for these building sets as for 3-99 years old. But, I have to say, I love when the girls pull out their Geomag construction sets as I have an excuse to be a kid again and pull up a chair and create cool 3D structures right alongside them. Who say construction sets are just for kids? I find it a great stress relieving, and a fun way to bond and spend quality time with my girls.
So, as you write up your holiday shopping list this year, why not make a point to add a few Geomag construction sets to the list. Like I said, these toys are ones that your kids will not get tired of, and will provide hours and hours of imaginative play for years to come.
