When I think of the holidays and family favorite movies my family and I like to watch to get into the holiday spirit, one singer comes to mind...Dolly Parton. I had the opportunity to screen this holiday special this past weekend and have to say it is my favorite holiday specials from Dolly.  I really liked how she had so many well-known special guests stop by Dollywood including Miley Cyrus (her god-daughter) and her father Billy Ray Cyrus, along with Willie Nelson, Zach Williams, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmie Allen.  In addition to these super talented musical guests, this holiday special also stars Tom Everett Scott, Mary Lane Haskell, Ana Gasteyer and Angel Parker.  

I really liked how this special was set, as a backstage story of Dolly trying to make the holidays magical using her unique "mountain magic".  But, leave it to Dolly to remind viewers that Christmas lies in the hearts of children (young and old), and that the best part of the holidays is spending time with those we love.  This is a really well put together holiday special, and one my family will be enjoying time and time again this holiday season, and for years to come.  If you like doing holiday advent countdowns or adding new Christmas releases to your family's growing collection, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Music when it arrives on DVD tomorrow (available now on Digital). And, for those on your holiday shopping list who love Dolly, this would make a great gift idea for them, too!
