My family and I have been counting down the days until June 20th, so that we could get our hands on the two Avatar 4K releases -- both the original movie, which arrived for the first time on 4K UHD in High Dynamic Range, as well as the recent Avatar movie, Avatar: The Way of Water which also made its long-awaited debut on 4K UHD, Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD. Even though we saw both of these movies in theaters and streaming, we wanted to get these movies on 4K to add to our growing James Cameron movie collection. I don't know about you, but next to Titanic, these two Avatar movies are my favorites of James Cameron's. Everything about these movies -- the story, the effects, the soundtrack, are out of the world and top notch. And now we own them on 4K and can watch the movies with top quality and sounds, with loads of bonus content to go with it.
For our movie night this upcoming Friday, we are going to kick off an Avatar movie weekend. We will start with the first Avatar, and the follow it up Saturday with the second installment, followed by Sunday with watching all the bonus content from both releases. It is expected to rain all weekend and be muggy outside -- so better to be indoors with the AC enjoying cinematic classics like these two blockbuster hits.
If you love Avatar and collect movies to add to your must own movie collection, then I highly recommend you check out these two new Avatar 4K UHD releases. I can say it was well worth the wait for these two movies, and I am so glad we finally own hard copies of these movies, as well as have digital access through Movies Anywhere, too.
