Back when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter I found myself like so many people glued to the television each week to tune in and watch Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family. This hit series originally aired in June 2010 and went on to offer season after season of binge worthy content. And, when the series concluded in June of 2017, you couldn't help but feel sad it the story finally came to an end. Usually I don't get hooked on shows that easily and if I do, I don't last all seasons of its run. But, there was something about Pretty Little Liars that made me not want to stop watching. I guess after all those years of watching long running series like 90210, Gossip Girl and Dawson's Creek, I was hoping for a new series to come out and pull me in and take me on a ride. Whatever the reason, I was hooked and couldn't get enough of this series. And, to this day, I will watch reruns over and over again, even if they aren't going in order as the show was that good.
When COVID hit and he were stuck at home, I found myself going through old DVDs in the basement and pulling out my collection of PPL complete seasons to introduce my daughters to this popular series. And, as we started to finish up the series, I found out they were releasing a spin-off that would be called PPL: Original Sin. Not only was I excited for this spin off, but so were my girls, who fell in love this drama. They wondered if the spin off would have some of the old cast reprising their roles, and if it would be take place in the fictional town of Rosewood or not. Then, June 2022 came and we sat and watched the first episode. We were introduced to a whole new cast of characters and a new town, Millwood. And, just like with the original PPL series, we were pulled in and eager to watch the next episode and so on and so forth until we were finished the first season and crossed our fingers a second season was in the works. This past fall HBO Max confirmed a second season, and now we are counting down the days until the first episode of the new season. But, in the meantime, my girls and I are re-watching some of our favorite moments from this new spin-off HBO Max series, thanks to the release of the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin: The Complete First Season, which is now available to stream on Digital, as well as own on DVD. This recent season 1 release contains all ten 1-hour episodes, as well as bonus content.
Even if you never saw or watched all the episodes from the original PPL series, you can still enjoy this new spin off. It has the same feel as the original PPL drama, but updated with the times and with even more nail biting plots twists and turns. If you are looking for a new series to get behind and binge as you wait for the second season to arrive, I highly recommend you check out Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin: The Complete First Season, now available on Digital and DVD from Warner Bros.
