Even though this is considered the most wonderful time of the year, for many it can be very stressful and overwhelming, especially if you gather with family for the holidays, knowing there will be tension. While I love this time of year, it is also one of the busiest for me with my holiday gift guide, as I usually cover 100+ products, with reviews of each, all of which take upwards of an hour to write up. But, I love what I do and love sharing unique gift ideas to my readers, to help ease some of the stress that comes with finding the perfect gift for loved ones and friends.
With all my blogging lately, there have been a lot of working into the wee hours of the mornings, and then waking stiff from sitting for long periods of time. When I read the ingredients I saw that it also contains turmeric which helps with inflammation, as well magnesium, which for me always helps with muscle twitches I get in my eye from being overtired or too much screen time. The other ingredients also help with pain, as well as add a nice flavor to the chocolate. I tried the recommended 2 squares of chocolate, and relaxed on the couch after blogging for a couple hours. While it wasn't instant relief of my pain, I could feel the pain in my shoulder and neck less bothersome than it has been. And, the next morning when I woke up, I wasn't as stiff and sore. I tried another 2 pieces of chocolate the next day, and by the end of the day, I wasn't asking my husband or girls for a back rub, as my back wasn't hurting me anymore. Not only did the chocolate help with my pain and inflammation, it tasted good, too! It wasn't overly sweet and had the right amount of balance between the cinnamon, cloves, cardamon, ginger and dark chocolate.
Last night I tried the Sleepy Chocolate bar, which is supposed to help with sleep. It has a blueberry lavender flavor, and contains lavender extract oil, chamomile extract, Valerian Extract, and Lemon Balm Extract, all to help aid in a restful night's sleep. I couldn't believe how this chocolate actually helped me relax and wasn't keeping me up. After a few weeks of up all nights, I needed something to help me get back on a proper sleep schedule, or at least help me fall asleep easier. I woke this AM feeling well rested and not groggy or dragging, like I would have felt if I had taken an OTC sleep aid or melatonin. I love the smell of lavender and usually infuse sugar cookie dough with dried lavender from my garden. I never thought to get chocolate with lavender to help relax. Just like the Painfree chocolate bar, this chocolate bar was also tasty.
