One of my favorite things to gift and receive for the holidays (and even birthdays) is a candle. There is someone about taking the lid off a candle and smelling it that brings a sense of calm and peace over you. Maybe it is because you know that once you light the candle it will not only burn light, but will release a wonderful fragrant smell through your house that relaxes the mind, body and soul. I know that when I am feeling stressed or are looking for a way to just get centered or clear my head, I can light a scented candle, and a few minutes later, it brings about a calming effect. Who knew that candles could be so powerful?
Do you have a favorite candle scent or brand? I usually gravitate towards to seasonal scents, as it seems to spark memories of my childhood and years past just by smelling a particular scent. For fall, I can't get enough of apple or pumpkin spiced candles, and for Christmas I absolutely love pine and sugar cookie scents. Ahhh, just thinking about those candle scents gets me thinking of cherished family memories, and wanting to light a candle just to fill the air with those scents, as I watch the flame flicker and sway about.
Recently, I had the opportunity to try a new to me candle brand, Vita Mia Los Angeles. What drew me to this candle brand was their mission and philosophy -- "to celebrate life because every moment is extraordinary and every person is unique."
Our clean burning candle is paraffin free, phthalate free, and sulfate free. The decadent aroma of apple is complemented by brown sugar and cinnamon
I couldn't agree more, and love not only how their candle they sent me smells, but it comes in a beautiful box with a black ribbon, and the candle jar is oh so stylish and looks great on my end table in the living, or burning in the bathroom while I enjoy a long soak after a busy week.
Each scent is associated with fresh and natural scents. All products are toxic free, clean burning, and 100% soy for a safer, healthier, and long-lasting experience.
I was sent their Apple Cinnamon Harvest 100% soy scented candle, which is made in the USA, and LOVE LOVE LOVE how it smells. It reminds of apple picking with my family at the nearby apple orchard, and then coming home to bake fresh apple cider donuts or warm apple nut bread together with my girls. Fall is my favorite time of the year because I love the leaves putting on a beautiful show, changing colors and then falling to the ground. I do a lot of baking this time of year, too, as we usually go a few times to apple pick and I am left with lots of apples to turn into delicious treats for my family to enjoy. When I first lit this candle, I couldn't get over the sweet apple cinnamon scents that filled the air in a matter of moments. Even my girls came in the room to see if I was baking something. They said it smelled amazing, and were shocked that this small candle was able to make the room smell like fall.
Even now that fall is coming to end and winter will be knocking at our door soon with soon and colder temps, I still reaching for my Vita Mia Apple Cinnamon Harvest candle to light and enjoy the wonderful apple cinnamon harvest scent. It is so relaxing to just sit and take in the wonderful scent of this soy based candle, and think back on the great fall memories we have experienced this year and in years past. Funny how a candle can spark memories just with its scent. That is why I love gifting and receiving candles as I love remembering all the great times with family and friends, and being able to hold onto those memories as I go through my day.
Create new memories. Cherish old memories. Inspire self-care and self-love with Vita Mia.
If you are struggling to find the perfect gift to gift those close to you, why not head on over to the Vita Mia website and browse their selection of 100% soy scented candles. Maybe a scent with spark a memory for you of a special time with a family member or friend. Or, maybe there is a scent that someone you love loves? Candles always make a great gift idea -- come on, you can't have too many candles!!!! And, after experiencing Vita Mia Los Angeles candles for myself, I can't wait to buy more, and also gift some to family and friends this holiday season.
