Like I mentioned in an earlier post today, I love this time of year, as I get to spend more time in the kitchen baking up sweet treats for family and friends to enjoy for the holidays.  So, when I was sent a copy of "Baking for the Holidays" by Sarah Kieffer from the kind folks at Chronicle Books, I couldn't wait to go through the book and flag must make recipes for the holidays this year.  Like all cookbooks, I read this book like a novel, cover to cover, admiring and drooling over the full-color photos of each of the recipes.  Be warned...don't look at this book on an empty stomach, as your stomach will be talking back to you and wishing you had some red velvet crinkle cookies already baked up to nibble on.

I have been a fan of Sarah Kieffer's since stumbling upon her blog, the Vanilla Bean Blog. I started printing out and making the different recipes she shared on her blog, and then started collecting her cookbooks published through Chronicle Books.  If you go back in my posts shared today you will find my review of her "100 Cookies" cookbook I reviewed.  I was excited when I got this holiday cookbook as I knew it would contain a wonderful selection of sweets and treats that I could bake up for my family and friends to enjoy for the holidays, and year round.

With over 50+ festive treats to bake up, you can't go wrong with this holiday cookbook.  I mentioned previously that my girls and are I are going to do a cookie recipe advent this year, and each day will bake up a new cookie to share with family and friends. I already have a handful of cookies from this cookbook flagged to make.  We have made a few over the past few weeks, and each and every treat baked up was a winner with our family.  Cruffins are our new go-to for Sunday brunch each week. It is a cross between a croissant  and muffin, and is to die for.  Mmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about them. :-)
