The other day #DCFanDome surprised fans with a #Smallville 20th Anniversary Celebration featuring a conversation with Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum. The full conversation with even more behind the scenes stories can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/W6IyPPkoRLY.
If the above conversation wasn't enough to geek out over, then you will be happy to know that now you can own the complete Smallville series on Blu-ray in a nice box set. Smallville fans, new and old, take note as this box set is a must own, as it not only includes all 10 seasons of this hit, Emmy-award winning series, but all the bonus content alone is worth picking up the set to enjoy.
I was a little late to the game when it came to watching Smallville. Even though most of my friends and family would tune in weekly to watch this series, it wasn't until a few years ago I started to watch it, after getting hooked on The Flash and Supergirl, and wanting another super hero movie to watch at night with my husband, after our girls finally went to bed. We preferred to veg out to a good superhero show than sit and watch depressing news in the evenings...and Smallville was the show we were looking to get lost in, and found ourselves loving it, and wanting to binge all the seasons, to see what happened next.
So, when I heard last month that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment was releasing this 20th anniversary edition Blu-ray box set, first I felt old that it was a 20th anniversary celebration, but then I was happy as I finally could watch all the seasons and missed episodes from start to finish again, along with bonus content. My husband and I just finished watching The Flash series during Covid, and we wanted to start back on Smallville, as we knew we missed some episodes here and there over the years. Now, we could start with the first season and go in order, one episode at a time....well, we didn't watch an episode a day...instead, we would watch 3-4 episodes...but, at least we were going in order. :-)
I have only had the Smallville: The Complete Series 20th Anniversary Edition for a little over a week now, and we are already through the first season and half of the bonus content. We are trying to pace ourselves, but if you watched Smallville before, then you know how good the story lines are, and you can't help want to me to see the next episode to see what happens next...even if you watched it before and know what happens...reliving these moment is a reminding why this long running series won so many awards, and garnered a huge following like it has.
With the holidays fast approaching, now is the time to get a jump start on your holiday shopping as they are talking about shipping delays and limited stock of items. Don't stress over gifts when you can just pick up the Smallville: The Complete Series 20th Anniversary Edition to gift to that special Smallville fan in your life...or, grab now for yourself, so you can enjoy the series from the beginning, and progress through all ten incredible seasons.
