Both of my girls love to draw and doodle, and are always asking me to sign them up for directed drawing and art classes online, or to buy step by step drawing books for them, so they can practice and learn to draw things when they are bored or have free time. So, when I saw the "How to Draw Cute Stuff Around the World" book released by Sterling Publishing, I just had to get my hands on a copy of this "Draw Cute Series" by Angela Nguyen. Not only would the girls have a blast trying their hand at drawing things like the Statue of Liberty, windmills from the Netherlands or a Japanese Shrine, I knew I could also weave some fun homeschooling geography lessons into the mix. :-)
For the past few weeks, we have been on a fun "Around the World" adventure each day, where we locate a new place on the map based on one of the places mentioned in this learn to draw book. While there are tidbits and facts throughout the pages of this book, I used them as a launching pad for our day of virtual travel, where we study that location's culture, foods, landmarks, animals, etc. The girls really had a blast learning about some new places, while also drawing different things. Some were easy to draw, while others were a bit more challenging...but, all made for a fun way to end our travels. And, when we were all done with our "Around the World" schooling, the girls had filled a blank drawing pad with all these super cute and colorful drawings the did, along with writing some fun facts they learned along the way. Who knew that learning about geography and including a little bit of art and drawing could be so much fun?! :-)
If your kids love to draw, or have been looking for easy to follow along books to help them draw, then I highly recommend this book in the "How to Draw" series available from Sterling Publishing. This is one of many draw along books geared towards kids, young and old. We own a few of these books, and they are always a hit with my girls. You can learn more about these "How to Draw" books by visiting https://www.sterlingpublishing.com/9781454943716/. Make sure you have a lot of blank paper, and coloring supplies on hand, as your kids will want to draw everything they see in the book, once you show them this book and they start flipping through the pages.
