'70s Soul Comes to Life with THE SOUL OF THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, a 10-Disc Time Life Set, Available Now (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a screener from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

FROM EARTH WIND & FIRE AND ARETHA FRANKLIN TO MARVIN GAYE AND BARRY WHITE, TIME LIFE PRESENTS THE MOST LEGENDARY SOUL SINGERS OF THE ‘70s PERFORMING THEIR GREATEST HITS LIVE AND UNCUT ON LATE NIGHT’S ORIGINAL MUSIC SHOW IN ONE ULTIMATE DVD COLLECTION

Al Green, Barry White, , Marvin Gaye, Chuck Berry, Aretha Franklin, Kool & the Gang, and Earth, Wind & Fire...these are just some of my favorite Soul artists from the 70's, I grew up listening and singing along to.  If you were a kid of the 70's and 80's like I was, then you know when you went on long car rides with your parents, they controlled the radio and music selection, so you had to listen to their favorite songs.  But, I didn't mind, as I had the same music taste as them, and loved the music they would listen to, especially soul.  The music would have you dancing and grooving all about, and you couldn't help but want to sing along.  Even today, when I hear such classics as "Let's Stay Together" or "Midnight Train to Georgia," I will stop what I am doing and grab my girls if they are nearby and dance around, or I will dance about and sing these classic tunes. They are the songs that shaped a generation and always leave you smiling and feeling chill and relaxed.

So, when I heard Time Life was releasing Burt Sugarman's The Soul of The Midnight Special DVD Collection this October, I had to get my hands on a copy to review and enjoy. And, thanks to Time Life I have been having so many impromptu dance parties in our living room with my girls and husband, as we enjoy all the live uncut performances from the amazing 70's soul stars singing their smash hits we all grew up listening to in the car or on our radios at home in the basement.

You can read on to see the complete list of soul artists and their songs that make up this DVD collection.  Like me, you will be surprised at the amazing list of artists and songs that fill the 10 DVDs in this new collection.  And, if that wasn't enough, there are also bonus interviews with top soul artists also included with the collection -- making this a must own for fans of soul music.  I have made it through 5 of the DVDs so far and am loving all the songs and artists featured. And, my girls are finding themselves requesting their favorite 70's soul music on Alexa when they are in their rooms or wanting to hear music. Once you hear this music, it grows on you, and want to hear it time and again. And, now with this Time Life collection, you have all the major soul artists in one place for your listening/viewing pleasure.  So, what are you waiting for?  Head on out to your favorite local retailer or order online and settle in to be transported back to the 70's for some soul satisfying music today.
