Both of my girls did a lot of summer reading this summer? How about your kids? Every time we went to the library, they would walk out with an armful of books, and more books put on hold for interlibrary lending. During one of our trips to the library, my youngest saw a display with a bunch of the Bots books. She asked the librarian about this chapter book series, as she wasn't familiar with it, and the librarian said it was popular with both boys and girls, especially early beginner chapter book readers. Even though my girls are reading at a middle school level, my youngest is always interested in books like this, especially if it has a graphic novel/comic type feel, which this book does. When you flip through the pages of the book, it reads like a chapter book, but there are so many full page illustrations in block format, that it has a graphic novel/comic type feel. And, with the characters being robots, it makes for a more fun read.
My youngest daughter ended up taking out 5 of the books they had available that day, and put books 6-10 on hold. By the end of the week, she had read through all five books, a few times each. She liked the story and the characters were fun. I found my daughter trying her hand at doodling the Bots when she wasn't reading the books. And, once we got the other books on hold to read, she whizzed right through those, too. My daughter really got into the books, and was recommending the "Bots" series to her friends, who were looking for more fun books to read during the summer break.
And, right before summer ended, I surprised my daughter with book 11 in the "Bots" series, called "Bots: Attack of the ZomBots!." This book released back on July 27th from Simon & Schuster, and is available in paperback, hard copy, and Kindle. My daughter loved this book, and said out of all 11 books in the series, this was by far her favorite.
If you have a child who has started to read early chapter books, or is drawn to book with big font print and lots of black and white illustrations, then I highly recommend you check out the "Bots" chapter book series by Russ Bolts." Once you child reads the first book in the series, they will want you to pick up all 11 books so they can read them. My daughter has since bought her own copies of "Bots" books 1 through 10, and added book 11 to the mix. Now, she is patiently waiting for another book to release, so that she can grab, read it, and add to her growing "Bots" book collection.

More about this book:
"Joe and Rob live it up with the ZomBots in this eleventh adventure in the hilarious Bots chapter book series.
Many years ago, scientists on Earth sent video satellites out to the end of the universe to see what was hiding in deep space. Now, years later, these satellites have begun sending their first videos back to Earth...and the stars of the show are two goofy robots.
Joe and Rob think they are ready for the Scare Dare Contest, but when they accidently read aloud a magic spell that calls the ZomBots, the two best friends must face off against a really creepy crowd!
With easy-to-read language and graphic novel art on almost every page, the Bots chapter books are perfect for emerging readers."
