Leave it to the folks at Quarto Kids to come out with an amazing selection of new Non-Fiction books for kids.  I have always been a fan of their children's books, as the quality is top notch, and they always release books that are great for reading as well as can be referenced for school.  So, when I heard about two new releases and asked if I wanted to check the out firsthand, I jumped at the opportunity.  "Inside Animals" features 21 cross-sections of different animals from the Animal Kingdom, while "Rescuing Titanic" shares the true story about the quiet bravery of the crew and passengers on the faithful night the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank.

When these two books arrived at my door, I couldn't wait to sit down and read through each one, as I knew they would be jam packed with amazing illustrations and wonderful content -- and, both of these books didn't disappoint!  Being an animal lover, I found myself really impressed with how the "Inside Mammals" book presented the cross-sectional illustrations showing skeletons, organs, nerves and muscles in a particular, while also explaining how they all work together inside an animal to keep it alive, so they can thrive and survive in the wild.  In addition to touching on each organ and their function, this book also shares unique facts that will impress both kids and adults who read the book. Like did you know a scorpion can glow in the dark?  Or, that a blue whale has arteries big enough for a human to swim through them?  If your kids love fascinating books filled with breathtaking lifelike illustrations and fun facts like this, then they will love this recent release from Quarto Kids.

And, if your kids are history buffs like my youngest, then they will definitely want to check out the upcoming "Rescuing Titanic" book, which releases on Sept. 7th.  This book, like the "Inside Animals" book is beautifully illustrated and really does a great job at telling the true story about the Titanic and how the crews from both the Carpathia and the Titanic worked tirelessly and bravely to try and save all crew members and 706 passengers from perishing.

My girls have studied the Titanic numerous times before, and we have a handful of books about it, but none were so well put together than this book from Quarto Kids.  I was so impressed as I flipped the pages of this book, and read all about the Titanic, the people who worked on it, and that faithful night.  If your kids like reading about the Titanic, then they will enjoy this book, which also shares about Morse code, navigation and so much more.  They will stay engaged from start to finish when you share this book with them. Both of my girls really enjoyed this book, and read it cover to cover in one sitting. And, I have caught my youngest grabbing it from the bookshelf to read on her own, or to reference it and sketch the titanic and different rooms inside the ship.

I could go on and on about just how great these two new releases are from Quarto Kids, but, instead, why don't you pick up the "Inside Animals" book, and pre-order the "Rescuing Titanic" book today, to share with your kids. These are books that will be read time and time again and can be used as they advance through their schooling as a wonderful reference.

More about Rescuing Titanic by Flora Delargy

"This exquisitely illustrated story of quiet bravery tells in rich detail how the little ship Carpathia saved 705 passengers of the Titanic from the icy waters of the North Atlantic. Written and illustrated by debut Northern Irish artist Flora Delargy, whose grandfather and great grandfather both worked in the Belfast Shipyards where the Titanic was built.

With the approaching 110-year anniversary of the ship’s sinking, Rescuing Titanic shares a unique connection with the story of the ship; having been written and illustrated by debut Northern Irish artist, Flora Delargy, whose grandfather and great grandfather both worked in the Belfast Shipyards where the Titanic was built.

In the middle of the night, the Carpathia received a distress call from the sinking Titanic. The intrepid little ship heroically changed course and headed straight into the frozen sea to help save as many people as it could. Follow the Carpathia as it risks everything to navigate remote, treacherous ice fields in the dark and come to the rescue of passengers on the world-famous ocean liner.

Along the journey, you will learn all about Morse codenavigation tools, the different roles of the crewhow the ships found each other, and by-the-minute details of exactly what happened on this cold and fateful night.

The illustrations set the scene and take the reader into the frozen eerie night in the North Atlantic. Beautiful full-bleed illustration and vignettes give great detail about how everyone on the ship made their own contribution and showed true bravery.

Rescuing Titanic shows that a glimmer of hope can be found even in great tragedy and that heroes are not always big and mighty, but can also be small and unassuming.

This is the debut book in the Hidden Histories series, which explores with beautiful illustrations and vivid details the untold parts of stories we thought we knew."
