These aliens come in peace

and just want to go back home!

I introduced a new game into the mix for our weekly game night tonight -- Drone Home from PlayMonster. As the name suggests, this game includes a drone, which in and of itself is really cool...then, add it as part of a game feature, and it is out of this world amazing! :-)

This game is perfect for kids ages 8+, and can be played with 2-4 players.  All you need outside of charging the drone, which is included with the game, are 4 AAA batteries.  You are also provided with a charging USB cable to plug in and charge your drone, which as a mom I liked, as I hate having to find where all our charging cables are when I need a specific one.

The game takes under a minute to set up -- you attach the four base arms to the center launch pad, and then place the drone in the center base.  Each player gets three aliens to launch one at a time on their launch ramp.  The first person to get their alien into the drone will activate it, and then watch as the drone flies up from the base and high up into the air.  To win the game, you have to be the first person to get all 3 of your aliens safely to the drone and launched. :-)

In this race to outer space, players launch aliens down the ramps, racing to land inside the drone so they can fly home. But beware -- there’s a delay once you make it in, so others can knock you out! If you stay in and your alien escapes when the drone lifts off, you’re one step closer to winning! Get rid of all your aliens first to win!

My girls really loved seeing the drone in action the first launch, and then were hooked on the game right after, as they wanted to race to the launch pad and activate the drone. For over an hour tonight, we all played this game, and couldn't stop laughing as we watched the drone fly up and then land away from the table.  It was a mad dash between my two girls to race and grab the drone, so that we could replace back to the launch ramp and load our aliens so they could be launched again, to re-activate the drone.

And, if by chance you break the propeller rings, they included 2 extra rings in the box as a replacement.  So far we haven't had to use the replacement propeller rings, but I am glad they were included, as they would be hard to replace if I had to go looking for the online. And, without them, you don't have a game to play.

If you are looking for a fun new game to add to your family game night, I highly recommend you check out Drone Home from PlayMonster. It will provide hours of fun, time and time again, and is so easy to set up and put away.  We can't wait to play this game again. And, the girls can't wait to tell their friends all about it, and then have them over to play with them.

  1. My daughter would love to play this with her cousins. Would be easy to set up when we see them for the holidays.

    1. Yes, it is easy to set up, and my girls continue to play with it daily. And, when there aren't enough players, they will hone their launch skills and watch the drone fly up and around.
