Costoffs Office Chair Review

This past year with Covid, many parents and children were tested with completing work and school at home, and many had to turn corners and spaces in their bedrooms or even dining rooms into office and school work spaces.  It really has been a crazy time for most.  But, it has also been an eye opener, as companies and employers have found that their employees are performing better at home, and some kids have found that they do better with remote learning than in the classroom.  And, during the winter months, many schools found that they could switch to remote learning and not have to cancel school due to snow, which meant that kids would be able to get out of school earlier come June, which kids, parents and teachers liked.

My husband has been working from home since the pandemic started, and will continue to do so until later this fall, when he will return to the office 2-3 days a week.  The remaining days he will stay home and work from his home office set up.  Like so many people, my husband has found he prefers working remotely from home, as it cuts down on his hour plus commute each way daily, and he can spend more time with our girls, as they are homeschooled and home.  Also, he can take a longer break at lunch and get in a workout or run, which helps recharge his batteries, so he can finish off the rest of the work day energized and rearing to go.  

Like many people, we didn't have a home office set up for husband, or spaces for my girls to each do online classes in their rooms. So, we had to buy desks and chairs for each of them, and move around things to accommodate their work stations. And, if you have been working from home with multiple people on Zoom or other calls at the same time, you need to make sure you are distanced or spaced out from each other so you don't hear echoing or noise.  Right now, my husband is set up in our spare bedroom on the first floor, and my girls each have a desk and chair in their rooms.  I have my small office downstairs for work, but that is now being shared between my husband and I when it gets hot and he needs a cooler area to work.  With all these new desk and chair purchases, we found ourselves researching the best office furniture to buy, as we wanted them to be functional as well as comfortable for long work and school days.  When the pandemic first started, we bought chairs from a local retailer, without reading the description about how they were made and how long you should sit in the chair per day.  Once we received them and put them together, we found that they were clunky, uncomfortable, and would rise up and down for my girls, so they were either sitting too low or too high, and always out of the view of the camera for their Zoom calls. My husband as using his office chair he borrowed from his work, but he knew he would need to bring it back. At the beginning, we weren't sure how long he would be home, so he thought it would be easier to just use the new executive style chair his work had bought his dept. before they closed down the offices due to Covid.  When he found out it would be long term being home, he had to invest in a chair.  

After buying and being disappointed with the girls we got our girls, we wanted to make sure we did our research on chairs for replacement chairs for the girls and my husband. I liked this one as it looked professional as well as comfortable.  And, my husband wanted something that would last a long time and be comfortable to sit in for long periods each day. And, knowing that he would be only returning part time to work in the fall, and keeping a remote office, he started to plan for a space in the house that he could set up for his office that would get him out of the spare bedroom, and offer him more space and privacy for his calls.

I was amazed at how quickly my husband's chair arrived, and how easy it was to put together.  In under 20 minutes, he was able to screw together the chair and was using it for work.  

Before I could ask him what he thought of the chair, he came out to the kitchen to tell me that this was the best chair he has sat in.  He liked it even more than the $300+ chair his work had bought for his dept.  The addition of the padded armrest and the rocking that you can do while sitting is what won him offer. 

And, after a busy day with calls and sitting in front of the computer, he walked away relaxed and without complaints of a sore back or legs.  This was the issue he and my girls had with the previous office shared we bought and had to replace.
