"WOW!!!" This is what everyone in my family said throughout the viewing of Raya and the Last Dragon last Friday night, during our weekly family night.  Not only was the story line spot on, but the animation of this film was amazing. And, after watching the movie, we moved onto the bonus content, where we found most of this movie was made during Covid quarantine, so all the animators, writers, voice actors/actresses, were all working on this movie from home -- which got another "Wow!" from us, after we learned this fact.  We have never been disappointed with a Walt Disney Animations Studios movie, and find that with each and every new release, the studio outdoes itself with a stellar movie, and the same held true with this recent release.

I am not going to ramble on and on about the movie and what it is about, as you have probably seen the trailer and teaser videos, leading up to the release of the movie to all major digital platforms last Friday. But, I did want to make sure you knew that this was movie worth buying now in digital format, if you don't want to wait until May 18th to own on DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra.  Just all the amazing bonus content alone makes this a great purchase, and one your family will be watching time and time again.  We watched this movie last Friday, and since then, my girls have watched it four more times since then.  And, they are asking for us to watch it again this weekend, as they can't get enough of it, especially Raya's cute sidekick Tuk Tuk.

If by chance you aren't in the know of this new Walt Disney Animation Studios release, here is a synopsis, as well as the official teaser trailer...

Synopsis:

"Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the last dragon in order to finally stop the Druun for good. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than dragon magic to save the world—it’s going to take trust as well.

From directors Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directors Paul Briggs and John Ripa, producers Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho, and featuring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Awkwafina as Sisu."
