I am always on the hunt for fun and unique gift ideas and stocking stuffers when the holidays roll around, as I love gifting family and friends with products and toys they probably didn't know about, but would love to receive. This year's search for the most unique toys led me to stumble upon Cubles, the paper toy, re-invented.
"Cubles® are playable 3D paperboard models built for ages 6+. They are made of strong and sturdy paperboard, not your typical printer paper. They require no glue or scissors, great for a hands on, stress free activity at home or on the go. Everything you need is included! Cubles have moving parts held together by paperboard so they are playable without the plastic. And best of all their color coded instructions and patented engineering make each one fun and easy to build.
All Cubles are Made in the USA, 100% Recyclable and for every 1 tree used to make Cubles, the company plants 100 more by donating to OneTreePlanted."

The kind folks at Cubles sent along two of their unicorn and their cat 3D paperboard figures to make. These fun build and play activity toys couldn't have come at a better time, seeing that Covid cases have been on the rise and we are back to staying in and safe. Plus, it has been raining most of the week, so the girls are go stir crazy not knowing what to do, stuck in the house. I shared these cute 3D Cubles with them, and they were so excited to build them, play with them, and then display them in their rooms on the dressers.
At first, the girls were a little perplexed at what they were supposed to do, having not read the directions. They are not fans of paper origami and thought this was just like that, but with sturdier paper. But, after reading the instructions, they were off and running with assembling the pieces, and when all was said and done, they were both proud of what they built by following the numbers, and couldn't help but show off their unicorns and cat. They even snapped photos on their phones to share with their Nana and Papa and friends, who all thought these Cubles were super cool, and so realistic with the art work of each.
After putting together their Cubles, the girls wanted to check out the Cubles website and see what other buildable 3D figures they could make. They were both excited to see Dog Man characters, superheroes, fantasy animals, and so much more!
They asked if we could get more for when snow comes or when they are bored and have nothing to do. I told them to add Cubles to their wish lists for Santa, and maybe he will bring them some. :-) After showing off their Cubles to their friends, and sharing about the other ones available in Dog Man and Little House on the Prairie, now their friends are asking for Cubles, too.
