The future awaits when “Bill & Ted Face the Music” arrives on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital, this upcoming Tuesday, November 10th. Directed by Dean Parisot and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, “Bill & Ted Face the Music” is the third film in the Bill & Ted franchise and a sequel to “Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure” and “Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.”
The Blu-ray disc features the film and special features in hi-definition, and the DVD features the film and special features in standard definition. Both versions feature a Digital version of the film.
Being a child of the 70's and 80's, I grew up watching the two Bill and Ted movies that released in 1989 and 1991. Never would I have thought that they would reunite and release a third movie in the franchise..but, they did, and I have to say, it was well worth the wait. When I first heard the buzz about a third Bill & Ted's, I didn't believe it. Then, I heard Keanu Reeves talking about it, and I knew it was real. That is when I found myself getting excited, like I did after the first Bill & Ted's and wanted another movie to release. We only had to wait to 1991 for the 2nd, which wasn't long. Many people didn't think it was a good movie, but I still loved it. Over the years, I have continued to watch both Bill & Ted movies with my DVD's, as well as when they aired on television. And, now with this third release, it had me feeling nostalgic and wanting to watch the first two again, as it has been awhile since I have watched them both. And, now that I have kids of my own and they are old enough to sit and watch these movies, I was excited to share Bill & Ted with them. It was so much fun watching them getting into the movies like I did when I was younger and would watch these movies on VHS after renting them from Blockbuster. :-)
I surprised my girls the other night with the third movie, and they couldn't wait to watch it. I hadn't seen it when it released back in October to On Demand, as I wanted to own the movie and add to my Bill & Ted movie collection. While it was hard to wait, it was well worth it, as this third installment was amazing!!!! Not only was the story engaging and draws you in, but Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter were truly meant for these two roles, and got back into character and delivered hilarious scenes that had us talking for days later. If I had to choose between the three movies, I would have to say that this one was my favorite. It was a long time coming for the movie, and the wait I feel made it even more enjoyable, as the characters played off of things in today's times, and that made the jokes even more fun and laughable.
I could go on and on about how great Bill & Ted Face the Music, but, why not pick up a copy on DVD or Digital on Tuesday, when it becomes available in stores and through online retailers. And, with the holidays fast approaching, this new release would make for a great gift ideas for fans of Bill & Ted, young and old. My family can't wait for the weekend to get here, as we will be watching this movie again. :-)
