Welcome in Fall with a Good Book -- Little People, BIG DREAMS Introduces "Aretha Franklin" (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a review copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

(Also available for the Kindle)

Have you read any of the Little People, BIG DREAMS books?  My girls have a nice little collection of these books from the best-selling series of books, that introduces kids of all ages, to outstanding people (from musicians and artists, scientists and activists, and so many more).  I have found that when I sit down to read books in this series that I also learn about these amazing people, which I like.  Yes, I know the basics about these famous people, but the true backstory -- their upbringing and how the detailed timeline of their lives really is fascinating, and that is what makes this is a best-selling and popular series for kids and adults to enjoy together.

Recently, I was sent a copy of the new "Little People, BIG DREAMS: Aretha Franklin" to review, thanks to the kind folks at Frances Lincoln Children's Book and Quatro Knows.  As soon as my girls saw the book, their eyes lit up as they love reading these books, and were not aware of Aretha, and wanted to sit down with me and learn all about her.  By the time we were done reading about the Queen of Soul, my girls wanted to listen to her music, and it ended up turning into an impromptu dance party. :-)

Through full color and whimsical illustrations, and facts shared and written at a child level of understanding, this book is perfect for introducing your child to the life of such an amazing women, who not only was a best-selling rhythm and blues singer, but was also the first woman to be installed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  I love Aretha and her music, and now my two girls do, too!

If your family loves the Little People, BIG DREAMS books, I highly recommend you pick up and add "Aretha Franklin" to your collection. This book was a really fun read, and will have your kids wanting to listen to Aretha's music and wanting to dance all around the living room with you, like my girls did!  Happy reading...and dancing! :-)
