The Animated Adventure for the Whole Family
Available on Digital ,Blu-ray™ & DVD
While this movie is not rated, I would recommend to kids 10+, as it does have some difficult parts to watch, including the opening scene where a dog is abandoned by its owners who no longer want him. As an animal lover I hate reading stories of animals being abandoned as owners no longer want them, or that they grew too build for their housing situations, which is seen a lot in places like Korea. Once you get over this heart-wrenching first part of the movie, you can't help but want to root for Jacob and the other abandoned dogs to find their way to the mythical place by the North and South border, which is known for letting dogs run free and live their lives without fear and in peace.
This movie really pulls you in from the start and will pull at your heart strings. But, when the credits roll, you find yourself glad you watched the movie. I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of this foreign-made film, ad happy that it was released in the US for all to see. My family talked after the movie about animal cruelty and the need to rescue animals who are in need of forever homes over breeding options. My girls really wanted Jacob and the other dogs to be safe and not have to fight for survival day in and day out. They never asked for a life like this, being abandoned and felt like they were worthless and not worth saving. Don't worry, I will not spoil the ending...but, be sure to have your tissues ready if you cry easily at a movie, as you will need them.
If you are looking for an animated movie that older kids will enjoy, or are into Anime-type movies, this movie will check off both boxes for you.
