Do your kids the new animated series, Gigantosaurus? My youngest daughter loves dinosaurs, so was excited to hear that Disney Junior was going to be carrying this series, and was hooked the moment she sat to watch the first episode. From there, she has been all about Gigantosauraus, asking when more episodes would be airing, and if there were toys and books out based on this popular TV series, both boys and girls of all ages will enjoy watching.
Just like my daughter was excited when she found out about the new TV series, I found myself excited to hear that one of my favorite children's publishers, Candlewick Press, was releasing picture books based on the show. Three books released back at the end of November, and have become staples at bedtime with my daughter. Either she will read the books on her own, or wait for me to snuggle and read them with her.
Here is more about the three recent Gigantosaurus picture books released from Candlewick Press, which would make for a great gift idea this holiday season.

How will they find their way home? The adventurous dinos, and readers, are in for a real treat when the secrets of the cave are revealed.
Who's afraid of a dark and scary cave?"

Some want to help care for the egg – but others want to eat it! When Gigantosaurus stomps onto the scene, everyone gets a big surprise – but it's not as surprising as what eventually hatches from the little lost egg!
Careful with that egg! Who knows what might hatch from it. . . ."

There aren't many good dinosaur-themed picture books out there that appeal to both boy and girls. But, I have to say, I am loving these three books. While the books are based on the television series, you don't need to be a fan to enjoy the books. My oldest daughter saw just how excited her sister was reading these books that she sat down with her the other day, and read the books together. She had never seen the show, but found herself loving the playful and fun dinosaur characters, which include Mazu, Bill, Rocky and Tiny. Since then, she had sat down to draw her favorite Gigantosaurus characters with her sister, to turn them into stories, as well as watch the TV series with her.
With Christmas fast approaching, these three new picture books from Candlewick Press sure would make for a great gift idea that special little dinosaur lover in your life. The stories are cute, and the bright and colorful illustrations really bring the stories to life.
