I still can't believe it already August -- mid-August to be exact. Summer sure did fly by! And, now kids are heading back to school and stores are stocking their shelves with fall decor, Halloween candy and costumes, and so much more. Before we know it, people will be talking about Christmas and holiday shopping. While I am trying to savor the final days of summer and the warm weather, I am enjoying day trips with my family. Thanks to the DVD players in the car, they are keeping the girls entertained and not asking every five seconds "Where are we going?" or "Are we there yet?" Two DVDs the girls have recently been watching while out and about are new releases from the folks at NCircle Entertainment. One is from a hit animated series which airs on television, and was one of the first shows my girls fell in love with and watched episodes daily, while the other is a show I grew up watching as a kid, and have loved introducing my girls to. Both of these DVDs are recent releases and affordably priced for families looking for educational and entertaining for their kids to enjoy, at home and on the go. Check them out...and, be sure to read until the end, as I am offering Inspired by Savannah readers the chance to win each of the DVDs, thanks to the folks at NCircle Entertainment....
Octonauts: Season 3 with Speeder Toys
About this DVD:
"The Octonauts are a team of adventurers who explore the world's oceans, rescue aquatic creatures and protect their habitats - from the bustling eco-system along the Amazon River to the deepest depths of the Mariana Trench. Deploying a set of aquatic vehicles, Captain Barnacles, daredevil ex-pirate, Kwazii, medic Peso and the rest of the crew embark on missions around the globe before returning safely to their home base, the Octopod.
In this season set, encounter all types of creatures from Barracudas and Sea Pigs to Humpback Whales and Hammerhead Sharks! The adventures don't end there! Embark on a mission in the Deep Sea Octo-Lab as the Octonauts explore the deepest, darkest reaches of the ocean! Come aboard and join the Octonauts on 23 exciting adventures!"
My Thoughts:
As I mentioned above, both of my girls started watching the Octonauts when they were little, and continue to watch this hit animated series to this day. What my girls love about this educational series is that they learn all about marine life and explore oceans near and far, without having to leave the couch. The Octonauts make learning about the different creatures featured, fun and entertaining, and it never feels like they are sitting for an educational lesson. But, when they shut the television off, they can't stop talking about what they just watched and learned.
My youngest was so excited when she saw the Octonauts Season 3 Gift Set arrive at our door the other day, as she saw that the gift set came with two character speeder toys to play with. The girls have their fair share of Octonauts toys, but don't any of these small speeders, so they were both excited to get these cute toys, which fit in your hands for carrying around at home, or on the go. In addition to the fun speeders, my girls also liked that this DVD included 23 full-length episodes from Season 3. They both agreed that this season was their favorite, and were happy to have a DVD to watch time and again, all their favorite episodes.
If you have an Octonauts fan in your life, this is definitely one DVD gift set you'll want to pick up and share, or pack away and give at the holidays.

New characters include Gumby's sister Minga, Denali the Mastodon and Tilly the chicken!"
My Thoughts:
Were you a fan of The Adventures of Gumby growing up? My brothers and I used to watch Gumby every Saturday morning as part of our Saturday cartoon day. Not only were the episodes fun and entertaining, but they were wholesome and always had a lesson that you could take away and apply to your life. There were a handful of shows my mom would let us watch, as they had age appropriate content, and this was one of them. Now that I have kids of my own, I love that Gumby is still relevant, and that there are DVDs to share with my girls, to introduce them to a show I grew up watching, and loved.
This new DVD release contains 49 full-length clay-animated episodes, all fully re-mastered. As the DVD title suggests, this DVD contains episodes from the 1980's. I grew up in the 80's and love all things 80's...so, I love when they re-release shows and movies from my youth, to own now. My girls have been enjoying these clay-animated cartoons, and have commented on how they like the story lines and are now fans of Gumby and Pokey. :-) Now I get to relive some of my favorite childhood memories of Gumby, when is sit to watch episodes from this DVD with them. :-)
If you grew up watching Gumby, or are just looking for a great DVD to share with your kids, that will provide hours of enjoyment, then you definitely have to check out this 49-episode DVD of classic Gumby episodes from the 1980's.
