We have a new favorite movie in our house, thanks to a recent screening of "Instant Family," starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne.  Thanks to the folks at Paramount, they sent my family a fun movie viewing package, that not only included a copy of the movie, but also a tote filled with all sorts of goodies, that go with the scenes/parts in the movie. 

Instant Family was one movie that my husband and I made it to the theaters to see, for a date night out without the kids.  It had us laughing from start to finish, and I couldn't wait for the movie to arrive on DVD, so that I could pick up and share with my girls, as I knew they would love it, too!  But, thanks to Paramount Pictures they beat me to it, by sending the movie prior to its release today.

For our family movie nights, I like to plan either a meal or snacks to go with the movie, as well as a few crafts and activities, as it makes for a more enjoyable movie night, where there are no phones, and both parents and children are involved in the fun, and really get into the movie.  So, when I saw all the goodies that were sent in the tote, including balloons and a t-shirt and all sorts of fabric markers to use to decorate it, I couldn't have been more happy, as it made for planning an "Instant Family" movie night that much easier.  Included in the tote were still photos of scenes in the movie, that showed the reason for the PR team at Paramount Pictures to include the different goodies in the bag.  

Having not seen the movie prior, my girls got a glimpse of what the movie was about, and started to decorate the house with balloons, before sitting down to decorate a "Best Nana" shirt to give to their Nana the next time they see her.

Included in our INSTANT FAMILY activity kit available were items based upon moments from the film, including “Grandma’s make-up kit” (washable markers and a make-up bag), a t-shirt with fabric markers and fabric paint, a custom bag, balloons, a hairbrush and the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack of INSTANT FAMILY.

We had so much fun with all the goodies sent, but the real fun was had when we finally sat down to watch "Instant Family" as a family.  I loved seeing the whole family laugh and enjoy quality time together, as we watched this movie about Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne's characters looking to adopt children, as this is what they were missing in their life.  My girls got to see what adoption is like, and how you don't have to be "blood-related" to come together as a family.  Also, they realized that there are so many children in the foster system that need and deserve loving homes.  Even though we are not able to bring a child into our home, our hearts go out to the families who do adopt and foster these wonderful, loving kids.  And, I am hoping that with the release of this movie today to DVD, Blu-ray and Digital, that more families will consider adoption or fostering.

Like I said, this movie had the whole family laughing, and when it was over, we couldn't stop sharing our favorite parts.  

My husband even had to sleep with one eye open that night as the girls kept telling him they would give him a makeover with permanent marker, like the kids in the movie did with their grandmother.  Hahaha :-)
