My husband and I are all caught up with shows on streaming channels, so we have been looking for movies and other series to watch, in the evenings, once the girls go to bed. I asked friends and family for suggestions, but most of the things they recommended we have already seen, or tried to get into, but couldn't. So, that left me looking at older releases and movies that we may have seen years ago, but would make for a great movie night now. So, when a shipment of February releases arrived from Mill Creek Entertainment a couple of weeks ago, it couldn't have come at a better time. As I looked through the DVDs sent, I couldn't help but smile, as this is the type of movies and shows that my husband and I were looking to watch. I don't know about you, but after a long day with the kids, especially when you homeschool and are with them all day, all you want to do it veg out on the couch or lay in bed and put a DVD on to watch. There is nothing more relaxing than to find yourself getting into a movie or television series, as you let your brain stop working and racing a mile a minute, at the end of a long day.

My Thoughts:
Out of all the DVDs I was sent last month, I have to say that these two Masterpieces mini-series collections were my favorites. Even though I watched these mini-series years ago, I loved being able to relive these Masterpieces tales yet again. Both of these series included a star-studded cast and offered a captivating story line that will grip your imagination and capture your heart. I highly recommend these two mini series releases, and am so happy to have them in my DVD collection, so that I can watch time and again.

My Thoughts:
Looking for a thriller to watch with your sweetheart during an at-home date night? If so, then you will want to pick up the new "No Tell Motel," which contains 8 horror movies, that will have you wanting to sleep with the lights on, and flinching with every noise you hear. My heart was racing during the viewing of these scary movies, when I sat to watch them with my husband recently. Usually I am not a big scary movie fan, but he wanted to watch a couple after I made him sit for a few chick flicks recently. My heart was pounding so hard, and I found myself wanting to look away at parts. But, when the movies were over, I found myself happy to have sat for them, as they were really good. This is definitely a great collection or horror movies, perfect for your next scary movie night.

My Thoughts:
Can you believe that Betty White just celebrated her 97th birthday this past January. She looks amazing, and continues to turn out great comedic performances in television shows she appears on, as well as in movies. I grew up watching her on Golden Girls with my Nana, and then as I got older, found myself seeking out her previous television guest appearances, as I fell in love with her as a comedic actress. So, when I saw this DVD arrive at my door, I was all smiles, as I couldn't wait to watch the whole Betty White Collection -- all 40 episodes, plus bonus content.
This 4-DVD set, includes a new, never before seen documentary chronicling the life of Betty White, and is a must see fans of this oh so talented and versatile actress. I am halfway through the collection, and continue to be brought to tears, as I am laughing so much. I can't wait to watch more of this brilliant comedian, who is one of the pioneers for women in television and movies, and will remain a beloved icon and legend for many years to come.

If you follow my blog, then you have probably read my reviews of the three Benji movies that make up this new Benji Collection. What sets this release apart from previous Mill Creek Entertainment Benji releases is that it is now available as a 3-movie collection on Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital. So, no matter your viewing preference, you can bring Benji home and watch it with your whole family. I grew up watching these Benji movies, and love that my two girls have fallen in love with Benji, too. We ended up watching these movies again for a recent movie night, and the girls were so happy. You can't help but fall in love with Benji, and having all three of these family-friendly movies in one collection, makes it even better. This recent release would make for a great Easter basket filler for young Benji fans.

If you like mob movies, then you are probably a fan of Donnie Brasco. I remember seeing this movie years ago in the theater, and wanting to own it when it came out on DVD. It was that good. This is one of those movies you stumble across flipping through the channels, and are happy to see it's playing. Then, you settle in to watch it. No matter where you start from, you know you are in for a treat, as this movie really is well done, and features two iconic actors. If you have been living under a rock all these years and haven't seen this movie...shame on you....just kidding. If you haven't seen it, now is the perfect time to pick up this Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, and see what you have been missing, and why this movie is so popular and loved by mob movie fans, or fans of Pacino and Depp.

Are you a fan of the Rock? I sure am! :-) I will sit for any movie that he is in, including this one. And, it also features Christopher Walken, another favorite actor of mine. Don't worry, I am not going to go into a whole long review of this movie, as it is well-known, and you have probably already seen a time or two before. My Thoughts:
My husband loves anime and when comic books are brought to life with movies and television series. So, when he saw this DVD in the stack I was recently sent, he couldn't wait to watch it. He loved the Metropolis comic book, and never knew a movie was made. This was the first DVD he watched, and he couldn't stop raving about it. I am not a big comic book fan, but had to sit and see what he was so happy about. And, I have to say, the animation in these two movies were stellar, and really made you want to sit and watch them from start to finish.

My husband is a huge anime fan, and was excited to get this DVD release, which includes the complete series spread out over 4 DVDs. You get all 50 episodes of this anime series! My husband used to watch this show, but would miss episodes here and there. So, he was excited to learn that they would be releasing the complete series, so that he could watch and see some of his favorite episodes, as well as one he missed. If you were a fan of ASTRO Boy, or love anime, then you will want to pick up this complete series, now available on DVD from Mill Creek Entertainment.
