This past Tuesday, Feb. 5th the new Shimmer and Shine: Flight of the Zahracorns to DVD arrived in stores. My girls were so excited when we were sent an advanced copy last week, as they love this show, and could watch the episodes over and over again. This particular DVD contains the following full-length episodes, which have already aired on television, but are fan favorites (according to my girls):
Shimmer and Shine: Flight of Zahracorns contains the following episodes:
- "Welcome to Zahramay Skies - Shimmer, Shine and Leah travel to the magical world of Zahramay Skies to meet the Stardust Princess and learn about her magic.
- Pets to the Rescue - When the girls and their pets visit Zahramay Skies, they discover their pets have wings and can fly.
- The Zahra-Star - After the Zahra-star's magic enters Shimmer and Zahrora's jewels, Shimmer, Shine and Leah must return the magic to the star so the Zahracorns can find their way home.
- Rainbows to the Rescue - When Zeta uses a potion to stop all the stars from flying in Zahramay Skies, it accidentally ends all flight magic.
- Zahracorn Tickles - After Zeta finds out that Shimmer, Shineand Leah are participating in a Zahracorn race, she decides she needs a Zahracorn so that she can enter the race too.
- The Zahracorn Salon - The girls take Adara's Zahracorn to the salon, but when she gets scared away, it's up to them to find her.
- The Dragon Zahracorn - Shimmer, Shine and Leah join Shaun, a Cloud Genie, on a quest to find a mythical creature. While discovering clues that lead them closer to the creature, they accidentally get trapped between two moving landmasses, making Shaun wonder if the journey was worth it."
As a parent, I love when my girls get hooked on shows like this, as each episode always has a positive message that young viewers can pick up on. From friendship to never giving up, and teamwork, kids not only have fun with these action-packed episodes, but they learn along the way, which as a parent, I love.
If you have a Shimmer and Shine fan in your life, and they don't already own this new DVD release, why not consider picking it up and surprising them with it for Valentine's Day? It would make for a great non-candy gift idea, that they will watch over and over again. We have only had this DVD for about a week, and the girls have already watched it a handful of times so far, at home and in the car.
