As part of our homeschooling this week, I introduced the girls to Sir Isaac Newton, and his theory on light and other accomplishments that make him famous. In addition to reading all about Newton and watching videos about this experiments, the girls tried their hand at a few of "light" experiments themselves.
They first started by hanging a prism by a long string in our bay window. When the light from the sun outside hit the prism, it cast a rainbow of colors on our wall in the living room. The girls thought this was so cool. In addition to this, we also looked at constellations and created our own constellation light boxes using fiber optic lighting. But, the best part about studying all about Newton was when I pulled out the GeoSafari Ultimate Laser Lab from Educational Insights, for the girls to play around with. Included with this set was a laser, 6 accessories, and hands on activities, that kept my girls busy the past two days. There were even more activities that kids can do, that are available online. We have a few of these planned with our schooling tomorrow, and the girls can't wait.

I have always been a fan of Educational Insights and their line of educational toys and products. My girls learn by doing hands-on activities, and I can always count on Educational Insights to have top quality products that I can use with our schooling, that are not only fun and can be enjoyed time and again, but that they will not break the bank either. This particular GeoSafari Ultimate Laser Lab set is only $16.99 --- a steal, if you ask me!
My girls had a blast creating their own laser maze, using a prism to make more rainbows in the living room, and even designing a liquid laserium. This kit is perfect for homeschool children studying the science of light and optics. Or, if your kids just love science like my girls, then this is a must have kit to have on hand for upcoming snow and rainy days. The activity guide included in this set is easy for kids ages 8+ (grades 3+) to read and follow along, so not much parent involvement is needed. I loved being able to sit back and see my girls read and perform the different experiments, and then explain to me what is happening, and why they like it.
I could go on and on about how great the Ultimate Laser Lab from GeoSafari is. But, instead, why don't you pick up this fun hands-on science educational kit for your kids, and see for yourself.
