This past Christmas instead of giving a bunch of toys to our girls, my husband and I (AKA: Santa's helpers) gifted them with experiences and memberships.  I don't know about you, but I find we spend so much money on toys that are only played with for a short time, and then left to take up space.  Yes, the girls asked for specific toys, but I know them and know many would be played with a few times and then left in a corner, until donation time, when the girls would say they don't want anymore.  So, instead of throwing money away, my husband and I decided it would be better to give them show tickets, pay for classes for hobbies they enjoy, and get a few new family memberships to museums and science centers for us to enjoy together for day trips as a family.  

While the girls were a little disappointed on Christmas morning when they saw less toys around the tree, once they started to open the envelopes Santa had tucked in the tree branches and saw what they were, they were over the moon excited.  Bella got drawing and painting classes, as well as a Minecraft camp experience for this upcoming summer, while Savannah got a online coding workshop she was asking about, as well as a few cooking and baking classes.  The girls were so excited to learn that we would be taking in a few family-friendly shows that are making stops in New England, including iLuminate: Hit Light-Suited Dance Crew, which is making a stop at the Bushnell in Hartford, CT.

If you like dance performances, especially ones that have dancers dancing in sync, then you will love iLuminate.  And, the addition of their light up suits adds to the amazing dance moves they do.

iLuminate combines state-of-the-art technology with electrifying dancers to create the ultimate in-the-dark entertainment experience.  This is unlike any dance performance you have seen, and once you see it up close, you will want to see it again.  

My family was first introdcued to iLuminate like so many other people, when we tuned in and saw them perform on the hit television series, "America's Got Talent," back in 2011.  When the lights went out and the dancers' lightsuits turned on, our eyes were glued to the TV.  And, what we witnessed next was nothing short of spectacular.  Just like the judges on the show, we were in awe of what we just saw, and wanted more.  And, we continued to tune in and watch videos uploaded to the iLuminate YouTube channel, to get our fix of these oh-so-talented dancers.  

Each and every time I watch an iLuminate videos on YouTube, I am blown away at what I am watching.  These dancers take breakdancing and other dance styles to a whole new level, all while making it fun and amazing to watch.  And, what is so great about their performances is that are appealing to both kids and adults, making iLuminate a must see for the whole family.

With 2019 now here, why not add to your new year's resolutions by making "family time" a priority in your life.  We can get so carried away with life and work that finding time to enjoy day trips or an afternoon out with the kids can be hard.  But, if you plan ahead, and schedule fun day trips, not only with the whole family be excited as they count down to these special days, but you will find that these special times out with family are also great stress-reducers. :-)  You will love making memories with your families, and 2019 will be your "Best Year Yet" and have your whole family talking about all the great things you did and experienced together, when you make "family time" a priority in 2019.  And, what better way to kick off 2019 than by taking your family to see iLuminate when it makes a stop in a town/city near you.  This is a show the whole family will love, and will be talking about for some time to come.  My girls are already counting the days until their stop in Hartford next month, and I have to say, I am excited, too!  We are planning a fun-filled day in the city with a trip to the art museum with our new membership and then dinner, before we take in the iLuminate show at the Bushnell.
