I recently learned about the Electric Motors Catalyst from Tinkering Labs and will be getting a chance to review this best selling (it's a To 10 Best Seller in its category on Amazon, with 4.7 star review!) with my girls. As I wait for this super fun, hands on STEM kit to arrive at our door, for us to try out, I wanted to make sure you knew about this, as you continue your holiday shopping. With only 19 days left to get gifts for every person on your list, now is the time to order a Electric Motors Catalyst for your kids or that special child on your list that loves STEM learning and being able to apply their creative power to make endless robotic creations.
If you follow my blog, then you know that my girls are homeschooled. And, I am always looking for hands on learning kits like this one from Tinkering Labs to share with them. Just the other day they put together a computer with their Daddy and he is now teaching them coding on. They had so much fun using their hands to make this computer, that I know once they see the Electric Motors Catalyst kit, they will want to sit down and start tinkering around and building with this kit.
Here is more about the Electric Motors Catalyst, which is perfect for kids ages 8+...
CHALLENGES, NOT INSTRUCTIONS: There’s no “right” way to use the pieces of a Tinkering Labs Catalyst. Instead of providing step-by-step instructions to build specific projects, we provide basic fundamentals about how the parts work together, then challenge kids to build their own creations.
REAL PARTS: This is more than a craft project—we include real hardware and tools. Some parts are custom-designed, and some are what you can find inside home appliances or the hardware store.
EVERGREEN: Catalysts are not a one-time activity or a single project. Instead, they’re meant to be made and unmade and remade over and over in as many ways as kids can imagine.

My girls are just like their Daddy in that they don't like to follow directions when making things. Instead, they look at the box or pictures in the instruction manual and try to figure out what goes where. So, I know that they will appreciate the challenge cards in this kit instead of instructions. Kids love to learn by trial and error and these challenge cards will definitely put their creative and brainstorming skills to the test, as they have fun building and using their imagination to complete each activity or project.
Like I said, the kind folks at the Tinkering Labs are sending me their popular Electric Motors Catalyst kit to try with my girls, so stay tuned for my personal review, to see how my girls and I liked the kit. I have no doubt it will be a favorite of my girls, and one they will play with time and again. So, if you are still scratching your head trying to figure out the perfect gift to give your kids that is not only fun to play with, but is also educational, look no further than the Electric Motors Catalyst kit, available now from Tinkering Labs for only $55.00.
