Just in Time for the Holidays...AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Introduces New Tasting Squares, Tablet Bars, Finely Grated Chocolate, and Gourmet Hot Cocoa (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent samples from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

I am loving this time of year, as I get to spend as much time in the kitchen as I want, as my family knows they get to reap the benefits...of tasty treats and desserts I bake up. And, now that my girls are older, they also like rolling up their sleeves and helping me bake and learn recipes that were taught to me by my mother and Italian grandmother, or try their hand at recipes they find in their magazines.  And, this month is house is all about cookies, cookies and more cookies.  The girls have a few cookie swaps they are going to next week, so we have been busy trying out recipes and finding the perfect selection of cookies to swap and share with friends.  While my waistline isn't happy with me right now, I can't help but smile seeing my girls get excited about baking, which is a love of mine...and, seeing them all proud of themselves when their cookies and treats come out perfectly and taste delicious.  :-)

Yesterday, I wasn't planning on baking, as we spent the weekend making cupcakes, brownies and a few other tasty treats.  But, we received a box of samples from AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate with some of their new products, which included  their Milk Chocolate Gourmet Hot Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Finely Grated Chocolate and a few of their Dark Chocolate Tasting squares (now a weakness of mine).

As soon as the girls saw this, they asked me what we were going to bake up.  How could I say, "No?"  We ended up making chocolate peanut butter filled cookies and chocolate drop cookies using the AMERICAN HERITAGE®  Dark Chocolate finely grated chocolate, which has a new look and recipe.  Once the flour cleared in the kitchen this is what we were left with. :-)

I wish I had snapped a photo of the chocolate peanut butter filled cookies, but the girls were quick to eat them up, which I was removing the drop cookies to cool.  I guess we will be making more of these, especially for our cookie plate for Santa.

Yum!...I am getting hungry just looking at these cookies, as I know they are delicious and pair well with a cold glass of milk, or double dipped in a hot cup of Gourmet Hot Cocoa made from the new AMERICAN HERITAGE®  Milk Chocolate Gourmet Hot Chocolate. This gourmet hot chocolate is not like any other hot chocolate I have tried...and, being a hot chocolate fanatic, I have tried a lot!  This gourmet hot chocolate has a hint of vanilla, orange and cinnamon, and is best made with water. I usually make my hot chocolate by warming milk on a stove top and whisking in my hot chocolate mixes, but I found with this one that it is surprisingly much creamier with water.

After our afternoon of baking, my girls and I settled in on the couch with a mug of AMERICAN HERITAGE's gourmet hot chocolate, and a plate of cookies we made with their dark chocolate finely grated chocolate, and watched a few holiday movies.  It was funny, as we watched the movies and saw families baking cookies and that, my girls would turn to me and say, "We need to make that."  I guess we have a few more cookie recipes to try out before our big cookie swaps next week.  And, it is good we have a bag of AMERICAN HERITAGE® Gourmet Hot Chocolate on hand so we can dip our cookies in, as we watch more holiday movies, counting down to Santa's arrival.

Here is one recipe we will be making this afternoon after our homeschooling, which I found over at the recipes section found over at  AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate  website here: https://www.americanheritagechocolate.com/recipes/overview
