The story, written as a lullaby, will help lull little ones to sleep after along day, as they admire the life-like illustrations that fill the pages of this book. Not only will they see endangered animals sleepy, but when they get to the end of the book, the last few pages share more information and facts about the animals mentioned in the lullaby.
I for one love when illustrations look life-like, like the ones in this book, as they help keep little ones engaged, and have them grow more interested in learning more about the animals they see on the pages. My girls couldn't get enough of the fun facts at the end of the book, and asked to learn more about their favorite endangered animals after reading this, so this cute lullaby spilled over into our homeschool, where we visited the library and did online research to learn more about the Javan rhino, Vaquita dolphin and Hawaiian goose, to name a few. My girls give this lullaby book two thumbs up, and I know your kids will, too!
More about this Book:
"The bedtime book about endangered species
When Mother Earth bids goodnight, / the world is bathed in silver light. / She says, “Goodnight, my precious ones.” / Nature’s song has just begun.
Mother Earth’s Lullaby is a gentle bedtime call to some of the world’s most endangered animals. Rhythm, rhyme, and repetition create a quiet moment for children burrowing down in their own beds for the night, imparting a sense that even the most endangered animals feel safe at this peaceful time of day. In successive spreads, a baby giant panda, yellow-footed rock wallaby, California condor, Ariel toucan, American red wolf, Sumatran tiger, polar bear, Javan rhinoceros, Vaquita dolphin, Northern spotted owl, Hawaiian goose, and Key deer are snuggled to sleep by attentive parents in their dens and nests under the moon and stars."
