I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the holidays are fast approaching, which means you should start thinking about gifts for family and friends. I will be kicking off my holiday gift guide with a few items tonight, and will continue to post reviews of products perfect for every member of the family, including your pets, over the next 8 weeks. I hope to give you some ideas for great gift ideas, especially for those hard to shop for people on your shopping lists.
As you gear up for the holidays, why not consider consider adding a new holiday DVD to your family's growing DVD collection? My girls do two advents as they count down to Christmas -- a book advent and also a DVD advent. I wrap new and family favorites of books and DVDs and the girls take turns each day unwrapping one of each, and then we sit to read the book, and follow it up with a holiday movie. It is a great way to unwind after a long day, and also gets the whole family into the holiday spirit.
One DVD we recently watched and the girls asked me already to add to our DVD advent countdown is "Nature Cat: Winter Dance Party," which recently released on DVD, and is available from Amazon for only $5.99. A steal if you ask me! :-) This DVD includes four full-length episodes from the hit PBS Kids animated series, that are perfect for winter and the holiday. Below is more information about this new release, including the episodes included on the DVD. My girls give this DVD two thumbs up and have already watched it a handful of times. A JUMP TO REMEMBER
Nature Cat has been trying to get into the Animal Book of World Records forever, and it looks like he is down to his last chance as he tries to be the champion animal snow ski jumper. But there is just one slight problem: there is no snow on the ground on this winter’s day! He can’t snow ski jump without snow! When all seems lost, and Nature Cat’s dream seems dashed, the gang has an idea – is it possible to actually create their own snow? Tally ho!

It’s Groundhog Day! Today the Groundhog should tell our pals if Spring will come early or if Winter will stay around longer. But the Groundhog has a different plan this year, do nothing! He is not going to come out of his burrow to make a weather prediction! Oh no! Why? Because in the last ten years he’s been right only five times. He can’t stand the pressure and thinks it’s time for someone else to do his job. Without the Groundhog, how will anyone know if spring will come early this year?
