This is my favorite time of year...getting to watch holiday movies, listen to Christmas movie, and enjoy reading books about the season with my girls, as we count down to Santa's arrival. I know what you are thinking..."It isn't even Halloween yet." I know, but it hard to not think of Christmas as decorations are already up in stores, the hot toy lists have been out for a couple of months, and I just heard Christmas music on the radio in the car today. And, as I am writing this blog post, I am watching a holiday movie on the Hallmark Channel. Now all I need is to put the tree up. :-) Don't worry, I will wait until after the last piece of Halloween candy is given out before I start pulling out Christmas decorations.
But, in the meantime, I am busy sharing all the great gifts I have come across this year, that would be perfect for everyone on your holiday shopping list, as well as sharing some wonderful books like the one below, that would be perfect for your Christmas Book Advent. We have been doing a book advent for the past couple years and the girls really enjoy it. They each get to choose four books (classic or new) each that they want me to wrap and number, so that we can countdown to Christmas with them. I, then, choose the remaining four to surprise the girls with, and make our countdown much more fun. This year, I will be sharing a cute story about a friendship and the magic of snowfall on Christmas Eve. I haven't shared this book with my girls yet, but have read it myself, and knew this would be perfect for sharing a few days before Dec. 24th.
Here is more about this magical book, that will have your kids wishing on Christmas Eve's snowfall...
"An enchanting Christmas story, filled with friendship and kindness
Every snowfall brings its own kind of magic, but this year when Nora and her sister Lizzie make a little snowcat for their snowman, Mr. Hollyberry, there's a little extra magic in the air. Their new neighbor Emily wishes more than anything that she could have a real cat just like it for Christmas. If only she knew what Mr. Hollyberry and his animal friends know—that there's something special about the snow that falls on Christmas Eve, something that can make wishes come true. An enchanting tale of Christmas wonder where new friends are made and wishes are granted, this is a perfect book for the holiday season."

Doesn't this sound like a cute book for the holidays? I really enjoyed the story, and the illustrations helped bring the story to life. The snowman really looked life-like and you couldn't help but feel for Emily and the snow cat, as you know they would be the perfect fit. Kids will really enjoy the playfulness of the story, and find themselves wanting to build a snowman just like Mr. Hollyberry, in hopes he, too, will make their holiday wish come true. I can't wait to see my girls' reactions to this story, and see what wishes they would make on Christmas Eve's snowfall, if we have one.
