Both of my girls love marine life, and whenever we do crafting they seem to go off topic and doodle fish, turtles , seals, etc. So, when I saw the Undersea Kingdom Create Your Own Magical 3D scenes book from Little Paper Worlds, I knew two girls who would have a blast coloring in the scene cards to make their own underwater kingdom.
In total there are 24 cards for your to color and enjoy. The first two cards form the base of your paper world, and the remaining cards can be intermixed and slotted into the base you made, to bring your underwater kingdom to life. With the 3D effect, you can look through the different cards and see ones behind it, so it looks like a really underwater world.
My girls were sick for most of the most of September and were looking for things to do while resting on the couch. This book sure did come in handy. They each chose 12 cards and took their time coloring in the underwater scenes, before working together to make the base and pyramid shape that attaches to it, to hold the different cards. The girls were so proud of themselves when they were done, and loved the 3D effect the cards resting in the pyramid-shaped holder attached to the base gave.
Scenes to color include starfish and shells, coral and underwater plant life, school of fish, mermaid (male and female), turtles, sharks, and so much more. When you think of underwater life, all this is included in the different scenes ready to be colored and be brought to life.
The Undersea Kingdom is one of a few different color and create your own 3D world books from the Little Paper Worlds from Carlton Books. Other books include
- Fantastical Beasts
- Magical Forest
- Ballerina Theatre
Seeing just how much fun my girls had coloring in the pictures and switching up their magical undersea kingdom, I will definitely be picking up others in this series to give them this holiday season. My youngest loves dancing so will love the ballerina one, while my oldest is a fan of wildlife and owls so will love the magical forest book.
