When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, I was really hoping for a girl. Why? Because my mom had saved many of my favorite toys and dolls growing up, for me to pass down to my children...and I didn't think a boy would be into my Care Bears and doll collections. My husband was hoping for a boy to play sports with, but I also knew he wanted a little girl to dote over. And, we got lucky as we were blessed with two healthy girls...who I can say are loving all my hand me down toys, including my Care Bear collection. :-)
Recently, I was sent a cute tote bag, which comes with collectible Care Bear pins (Cheer Bear and Bedtime Bear) from Pintrill, along with a cute pair of Care Bear socks from Socksmith.
These are definitely not things I had in my collection as a kid, or have bought for my girls. But, now that I know they are available, I can't stop telling friends and family who still collect Care Bears stuff all about them.
Like I said, I was sent samples and while I wish I could have kept them for myself, I was glad to be able to share them with my girls, who I know would love them and get good use out of them. My oldest daughter asked for the tote, as she loves carrying her plush toys in the car and this would make keeping them in a safe play on the go, easier and more travel friendly. She also liked how she could add a couple books, or a Care Bears coloring book and crayon pack to the tote to keep her busy on long car rides.
I can't tell you how many people have stopped us recently to comment on cute the bag is, and where they can get one.
Usually my daughter has one of her Care Bears poking out the bag like this, and this prompts people to stop and share their childhood Care Bears memories with us, which I love. See you can never be to old to play with Care Bears, or buy fun Care Bears totes and/or socks. :-)
While the Care Bears tote went to my oldest daughter, my youngest was not disappointed with her Care Bears surprise as the socks included two of her favorite things...Care Bears and Pizza. Come on, where are all my pizza and Care Bears fans out there? You know who you are. :-) And, you know you are looking at the picture of these socks and wishing you had a pair for yourself.
My daughter has been rocking her Care Bears socks from Socksmith everywhere we go. And, to make sure people see them, she hikes them over her pant legs. :-) You can definitely say that my youngest daughter has her own style sense, but makes it work, and usually has people stopping to comment on how cute she looks. And, these socks really are getting her comments - not just because of the pizza slices, but because of Bedtime Bear fast asleep under a cheesy blanket of goodness. Can you believe that these cute socks are only $8? I know, I couldn't believe it when I saw them on the Socksmith site, as socks like these are usually $15+. Shh, don't tell my girls, but I bought myself a couple Care Bears socks for my upcoming birthday.
I thought seeing that I shared the tote and socks with them, I deserved a little Care Bears treat for myself. And, I was finding it hard to choose just one pair, as they all looked so cute, and would be fun to wear. I ended up picking the Believe Socks, as I love the color blue, along with the Grumpy Socks, as I like Grumpy bear and rainbows. They were priced right at $8 each that I could see spending $16 on these playful socks which will keep my toes warm during the upcoming winter months, while changing up my boring old white socks I usually wear.
