Just because Shark Week is coming to a close, doesn't mean your family can't still enjoy all the wonder and majesty long after these intriguing documentaries and shows stop airing. My girls look forward to Shark Week each year...it is like a winding down of summer event for them, as we gear up to 5-6 days a week of homeschooling. This year, the girls really had a blast with all the new shark-inspired episodes that aired on television, which they recorded so that we can watch all throughout the year. And, when the girls aren't watching these recorded episodes they will more than likely be popping the Thomas Edison's Secret Lab: It's Always Sharkest DVD from NCircle Entertaiment into the DVD player to watch.
Here is more about this DVD, available from NCircle Entertainment for only $5.00 (be sure to read on to learn how you can enter to win a copy of this DVD for the shark fan in your life):
"Unknown to the world, Thomas Edison built a secret lab where he invented a virtual version of himself and a steampunk robot named Von Bolt. Years later, Angie, a twelve-year-old science prodigy, discovers the lab.
Join Angie and friends as they learn and explore a variety of science topics from a shark s sense of smell to plants and pollinator s roles to radioactive decay to DNA and more! While visiting one of Kent s relatives, the kids come up with a great idea for attracting more tourists to his restaurant - the only catch is that it also attracts a very big shark with very big teeth! What will the Secret Lab Kids do? Guided by fun-loving Edison, Angie and friends will show just how fun science can be!"

Ever since NCircle Entertainment started releasing Thomas Edison's Secret Lab titles, my girls have been fans, as they both love science, and think this series is a great learning tool. The girls love watching Angie and friends learn and explore different science topics with the help of the secret lab they stumbled upon. In this DVD, shark fans will learn all about sharks, while also being introduced to historic scientists like Charles Darwin, Dr. Karl Von Frisch, Frederick Soddy, and more.
This DVD contains the following episodes:
- It's Always Sharkfest
- Bee-Gone
- Monster Smash
- Follow Your Nose
- Fungal Bungle
- Burpin' Babies
- The Mystery of Pirate Woods
- Mutant Mascot
My girls really enjoyed this DVD and have already watched it a handful of times. They loved learning about a shark's sense of smell, a pollinator's role, DNA and even radioactive decay, in a fun and entertaining way. Who knew learning about science could be so fun? This DVD series makes it fun for kids of all ages.
