Thanks to the popular Nickelodeon series, Sunny Day, both of my girls are growing their hair out, so that they can have me try different hair styles from the show on them, and also because longer hair with pink and yellow stripes looks even cooler. :-) 

Have your kids stumbled upon Sunny Day on Nickelodeon yet?  This hit animated series airs daily on Nickelodeon. My girls first learned about it when they saw YouTube videos from the popular series that showed how to do different hair styles.  Then, they found out that there was an actually series, and they couldn't wait to check it out, and have been watching Sunny Day ever since.  And, there is even a cute furry friend, Doodle, that my dog-loving daughter, Savannah, told me I had to mention. :-)  So, you know with a dog in a show it is even better! :-)

This upcoming DVD release contains 4 full-length episodes that have already aired on television, but will be instant favorite with Sunny Day fans.  My girls received this DVD over the weekend and have already watched it a handful of times.  They both agreed that the Friendship Day episode is their favorite.  And, like other Nickelodeon shows, Sunny Day shares great lessons for kids including importance of friendship, never giving up on your dreams, teamwork, and praises individuality and self-expression -- hence the reason my girls want longer hair so that the color streaks they want will show up better and be cooler.

Along with the help of her best friends Blair and Rox, and her loyal and lovable puppy Doodle, Sunny confidently takes on any challenge thrown her way. The characters in the series celebrate individuality and self-expression, while the show's social-emotional curriculum highlights leadership, innovative thinking and teamwork.

Each episode of Sunny Day features an array of content from original music to the "Style Files," a fun, live-action hairstyle tutorial based on Sunny's creative hairstyles from the show. Produced by Nickelodeon Home Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Media Distribution, Sunny Day will be available on DVD May 22 for the suggested retail price of $10.99.

• Friendship Day - Doodle thinks Sunny forgot him on Friendship Day so he searches for a new friend but finds dogcatcher Scratch instead.
• Sunny and the Princesses - Princess Anabella needs help from Sunny, Rox and Blair to teach her sister Princess Dominica the importance of trying new things.              
• Stick With Me - When Rox and Blair get stuck together with super-strong hairspray, Sunny helps them learn how to use teamwork to overcome their sticky situation.
• If Timmy Gives You Apples - When Timmy gets carried away delivering apples to the salon, Sunny must find a nice way to get him to stop.
