How did you welcome in Spring the other day? I ended up rushing Savannah to the ER as she was having trouble breathing. She had been sick with a head cold for a few days, and then passed it along to me and my other daughter, Bella. I was about to crawl into bed after a long day with the girls -- never fun when you are all sick, especially when you are doing steroids and nebulizer treatments -- and noticed Savannah belly breathing.
After an exam, x-rays, oxygen and two nebulizer treatments and meds, the doctor came in and said she has pneumonia. Now, hearing this as a parent during the crazy cold and flu season we have had would be scary enough. But, Savannah has had pneumonia two other times in a year -- this past January and back in November. When I heard this and was shown the x-ray were her lower left lobe lit up, I was happy they figured out what was causing her labored breathing, but then questioned the doctors, who had no answers about why she is getting pneumonia so often. They said I would have to see a children's pulmonologist to try and determine the cause. Ugh, never a dull moment when you have kids. You don't like seeing them sick, but when you find yourself going from doctor to doctor to determine why they are sick, it becomes very stressful.
Because we have dealt with pneumonia two times before, in less than 6 months, the ER doctor let me bring Savannah home to rest and recover from home. She was eager to leave....as soon as we got there and they started poking and prodding she was good to go. We arrived home after 3AM the day after Spring began, and I got Savannah settled into bed. Savannah woke later that morning to the doorbell ringing. It was Fed-Ex delivering a package. If you are looking for a way to cheer a sick child up, look no further than UPS or Fed-Ex pulling into your driveway to drop off unexpected packages. Savannah couldn't wait to see what was in the big box. And, as I pulled out two Pillow Pets, she mustered up enough energy to let out a squeal of excitement as she saw her favorite color, teal, and then saw that it was a colorful teal puppy Pillow Pet, and she was all smiles.

Savannah went from feeling lousy to having a spark of energy thanks to these cute new Pillow Pets that arrived at just the right time to offer cuddles and make resting on the couch and staying put more comfortable and fun.
Usually I have to fight with the girls to lay down on the couch and rest when they are sick, but now that they had these cute Pillow Pets, they were all ready to grab a blanket and snuggle up with their Unicorn and Puppy Pillow Pets, and watch television and rest together.
It was nice seeing the girls lay together, and hear Bella telling Savannah jokes to try and make her smile and laugh. She doesn't like to see her sister sick, especially after being laid up back in January and November with pneumonia. But having her sister and her new teal puppy Pillow Pet near her, has made recuperating at home easier.

These are soooo nice!! I've been making pillows and have made stuffed animals, so this caught my eye. It would brighten up a child's day to receive a package with something so nice and make them feel better. I hope your little one is getting better.
