Have you seen the new Despicable Me 3 movie, which arrived this past Tuesday on Blu-Ray and DVD? If you grew up in the 80's like I did, then you will love this morning, not just because all the Despicable Me movies in this popular animated franchise are great, but that the move opens with some great 80's music -- think Michael Jackson. Yeah, I found myself glued to the screen watching the movie, and tapping my feet along, and then I found myself not wanting to get up as I couldn't wait to see what happens next.
If you are not familiar with Despicable Me 3, first, where have been this past year (just kidding), check out the official movie trailer and more about the movie here:
Like I said, the Blu-Ray and DVD combo of this movie came out last Tuesday, so it arrived just in time for you to pick for a fun family movie night with your family, as you countdown to Christmas, or to stuff in your child's stocking or wrap and put under the tree. We had so much fun watching the movie the other night. The girls said that this was their favorite of the three Despicable Me movies, and have already watched the movie two more times since we received it this past Friday. I don't see the girls slowing down with the movie, as they are already asking when we will watch it again. :-)
In addition to this great family-friendly movie, we were also sent with some fun swag from the movie that made for a fun craft and fun time before we had pizza and movie night this past Friday.
Yes, the Minion hat actually has a light up lamp. Super Cute!
We were sent a double-sided ornament for the girls to get creative and add a drawing to the blank side. Then, we strung the ornament with yarn and added them to the tree. I like handmade ornaments like these as the girls always get excited when we pull out ornaments each year and look at them. When they find ornaments they made, they love admiring them and seeing how far they have come writing their name and adding more detail to drawings they do.
In addition to the fun ornament craft, we were also sent two sticker sheets filled with Despicable Me character stickers. The girls each added a sticker to their ornament, but also used them to make a cute sticker scene that they added silly thinking bubbles to each character, and having them thinking funny stuff.
When they were done making sticker scenes, they worked on the fun activities on the back of the wipe off placement.
You can do these fun activities, too -- just click on the following pictures of the activity placement and ornament and enjoy with your family tonight! :-)
After they solved the dot-to-dot, word find, etc. it was time for pizza, and then the movie. I have to say that this was a jam-packed movie night and one my girls will remember for a long time. It is always nice when you turn a movie night into something fun by adding fun crafts and activities based on the movie you plan to watch.
And, Despicable Me 3 has been on our must watch list for quite some time, so it was great to finally be able to watch it. And, I think tonight we will be watching again. :-)
