What are you weaknesses when it comes to food? For me it is chocolate and popcorn. So, when I was recently asked to sample and share a review of the Zebra organic popcorn line from Popcornopolis, I jumped at the opportunity, as it included both of my weaknesses, and I couldn't resist. :-)
Zebra is not your average popcorn. This organic popcorn is popped in coconut oil and contains no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, and is made with NON GMO ingredients. When you see this popcorn up close you will see that it a very decedent popcorn. Each of the Zebra popcorn flavors start out with a base -- caramel corn drizzled popcorn, and then the amazing add-on's turn this from plain caramel popcorn to an "I my gosh, this is amazing popcorn" that you can't stop reaching into the bag to grab another handful. What you will notice when you reach in the bag is that this popcorn like its name, Zebra implies, has luscious striped popcorn. This is from the the chocolate drizzle (milk, white or dark, depending on flavor), which when paired with the caramel really makes this an delicious gourmet popcorn line that would make any popcorn or chocolate smile. :-)
The decadent chocolate-drizzled snack line, developed by Popcornopolis’ Cordon Bleu-trained chef, features five innovative varieties inspired by the brand’s popular Zebra® Popcorn:
Zebra by Popcornopolis® is gluten-free, non-GMO, made with USDA certified organic popcorn, and popped in coconut oil. Every ingredient – premium chocolate, pure cane sugar, creamery-fresh butter and more – is free from artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.
- Chocolate Stripe: Dark and White Chocolate Drizzled Caramel Corn
- Chocolate Peanut Butter: Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter Drizzled Caramel Corn
- White Chocolate Macadamia: White Chocolate Drizzled Caramel Corn with Macadamia Nuts
- Chocolate Candy Cane: Dark Chocolate Drizzled Caramel Corn with Crushed Peppermint (Holiday Edition)
- White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice: White Chocolate Drizzled Caramel Corn with Pumpkin and Spices (Holiday Edition)
I lined up the five popcorn flavors on the table and had bowls set out in front of each, filled with the different popcorn flavors.
We went down the line sampling each flavor and commenting about how each tasted. It really was hard for everyone to choose a favorite from the five flavors, as they all tasting really good, and had you reaching for another piece. But, I was finally able to get everyone to choose one that made their mouth go "wow"!. Savannah and Bella have been on a candy cane kick lately after putting up the Christmas tree last week, so they were all over the Chocolate Candy Cane flavor. I heard them talking about how we need to buy more candy canes so that they could dip them in chocolate, in hopes they would taste just like this popcorn. :-) My husband, on the other hand gravitated to the White Chocolate Macadamia bag, which surprised me as he is not a big white chocolate fan. But, he said that the combination of caramel popcorn, paired with the white chocolate drizzle and macadamia nuts (which were huge chunks of nut) made this a delicious tasting gluten-free popcorn. My favorite was the Chocolate Peanut Butter, as I am a huge peanut butter cup fan, and this popcorn was just the right enough sweetness, thanks to the milk chocolate and peanut butter flavor.
I really liked how the milk chocolate lingered on my tongue, allowing me to taste the caramel, peanut butter and chocolate flavors, and then was treated again with the luscious milk chocolate at the end. Washed down with a cold glass of milk...it was so good! I ended up eating the entire 6 oz bag myself, after everyone had the chance to sample some. See, I was nice enough to share before I devoured this artisan organic popcorn.
With the holidays fast approaching I see the Zebra striped popcorn line from Popcornopolis being a wonderful gift idea for foodies, popcorn or chocolate lovers, or for that hard to shop for person in your life, as most people can't resist popcorn, especially when it is drizzled with chocolate. :-) This gourmet popcorn would also make a great addition to your dessert table, or to have on hand for snacking during holiday movie nights with your family, or as a sweet treat for yourself, as you gear up to wrap gifts and prep for the holidays. Everyone deserves to have a great tasting popcorn that will make your mouth sing, and Popcornopolis does just this with their Zebra popcorn line. I will definitely be stocking up on this popcorn to have on hand for those unexpected holiday guests, to serve up after our upcoming holiday dinners, and as a nice "me time" treat.
