Winner of Scholastic's Gold Star Toy Award. A multiple award-winning party game for tweens, young teens and their families
Are you a fan of the Cards Against Humanity game? My husband and I love to play this game when friends and family stay and we have game night in our house. Once the kids are all in bed, we pull out this game and have so much fun. But, a couple months ago my oldest found our game and started looking at the cards. She asked what the game was and if she could play. I told her this was for adults, but that I would see if there was similar game for her and her friends to play. My search led me to Not Parent Approved. When I visited the website I remembered seeing this kids' game a couple years ago in one of my Scholastic Parent & Child Magazine. I thought to myself then that this would be a fun game to get the girls when they were older, but such is life, I totally forgot about it, until I did a search for a game that is inspired by Cards Against Humanity, but is for kids, and found Not Parent Approved.
This card game for mischief makers 8+, and makes fro a great sleepover game, or game for your kids to play when they have a bunch of their friends over and they come asking you what they can do because they are bored. Here are the instructions for this oh so fun game:
Did you see how all the kids playing have to burp - real or fake, in order to choose the Burp Boss? My kids thought this was the funniest thing ever. And, the first time my oldest daughter and a few of her friends played this game, all I heard was giggling in between burps. I am proud to say that Savannah was crowned the "Burp Boss." There is something to put on her resume, right?! :-) This card game was an instant hit with my girls and their friends, and one they always reach for when looking for something to do.
To play this wacky fill-in-the-blanks card game you need to have a minimum of 4 players (maximum of 10). And, like the instructions state above, you can be for as long as you want, so game play can be between 6-60 minutes, or however long you and your last without laughing hysterically until you can't handle it anymore. :-) Last week we had a few friends and their kids over, and while the adults played Cards Against Humanity in the kitchen, the kids set up the card table in the living room and played their own kid-version of the game, which they said was much more fun than our boring old game. After hearing this the adults piled into the living room to play this fun card game with the kids and I have to admit the answers that everyone played really were hilarious and had everyone laughing. And, choosing a burp boss was also fun...I really thought the adults had this in the bag, but one of the kids, whose secret talent of burping the alphabet won hands down. :-)
When we joined the kids in playing the game, we used the blank cards that come with the card set. Everyone liked the blank cards in the box as they were able to come up with some really wacky questions and responses.
I am so glad I found Not Parent Approved again, and that we had an opportunity to try this game out firsthand. It was a hit with everyone, and one game my girls continue to pull out when friends come over. And, just the other day, they had a play date at a friends house, and their friend requested that they bring this game to play. I know someone who will be asking for this game for Christmas, so they have their own. :-)
If your kids love card game where they have to answer silly questions with even sillier answers, then you will definitely want to check out Not Parent Approved. Us parents have Cards Against Humanity, and now kids have their own version of the game to play.
Great for parties, sleepovers, slumber parties, road trips, flights, picnics, and summer camps. Take the laughter with you wherever you go!
