I can't wait for the month of November to end. Not, just because we can start counting down to Christmas, but also because this past November has been a very stressful and crazy month. November was plagued by hospital and ER visits, countless sick and follow up visits to the pediatrician's office, as my girls both dealt with head colds, sinus infections, pneumonia, asthma attacks and eczema flares. You name, it felt like we were dealing with it in our house. Even though my girls are 6 and 7 years old, I felt like I had newborns in the house as we were up most nights, and barely got a few hours of restful sleep a night. I found myself cleaning the house from top to bottom daily when I wasn't doing loads of laundry. It felt like it was never going to end. But, then Savannah who had pneumonia finally started to improve. Now, we just need to get Bella back to her old self, as she has continued to suffer from asthma issues that new inhalers, steroids and various nebulizer combination treatments can't seem to get under control. She is tired of feeling lousy, and I am tired of seeing the girls sick and not feeling well. For the months of October and November, we were practically home bound and spending most hours in the day on the couch. One plus...we got to snuggle a lot, read some great books, and watch some of our favorite movies. :-)
During this trying time with all the illness in the house, one thing really helped my youngest daughter, when it came to her asthma issues. We were sent a Sleep Zzz Pillow to review and for inclusion in my gift guide. I had originally requested to review the adult pillow (there is also pillow for nursing moms of twins), but they wanted more coverage for your kid's size pillow. And, it was a blessing in disguise, as this pillow, which looks like a "U" shaped body pillow, did wonders in helping to keep Bella's head propped up, so that any post nasal drip would drain properly and it helped keep airways open by being propped up, so she was breathing better. I hate having to rely on steroids and asthma medicine, as they always have adverse effects with my daughter -- she wants to eat more and she gets really moody -- never fun. But, I found that when I introduced the Sleep Zzz pillow at bedtime, and even when she was napping on the couch, that her sleep experience was much better. She was able to fall asleep and stay asleep longer than she has been.
Why does the Sleep Zzz Pillow work so well?
The shape and the depth of the pillow helps surround the child and makes them feel secure. It will give your child support as if they are being held.
Children also love the super soft removable / washable cover. The fabric has a 3mm pile which make it super snuggly!
And, when Bella is not sleeping with her Sleep Zzz pillow, she loves to snuggle up with it. I have found her using it on the couch as a neck support while she is reading. She says she likes the sides of the pillow as they feel like arms wrapping around her. :-) Bella also loves to straddle the pillow or lay sideways on it while she is watching television. She says it is more comfortable than the side arm cushion, and makes laying on the floor and watching television more fun and comfortable.
Bella (and Savannah, when Bella is nice enough and shares with her) really enjoy the Sleep Zzz pillow. I have also found it to be comfortable, too. Shhh, when the girls are playing and I working on blog posts during the day, I like to wrap the pillow around my waist, as it provides great back support for my low back pain. So, as you can see the Sleep Zzz pillow has been a lifesaver in our house. It has helped provide relief for Bella at bedtime, helping her to keep her propped for better breathing, is perfect to use when laying on the couch or floor when watching television, great for reading, and I have loved the back support I get with it. I don't know about you, but I love when I stumble upon a product that offers many uses. I feel like I hit the jackpot in that it can help with different situations.
And, right now while I am writing this post, Bella is snuggled up with her Sleep Zzz pillow (which you can swap out the pillow covering with different covers - each sold separately) and sleeping so peacefully.
When she wakes in the AM, she will come downstairs with her Sleep Zzz pillow in tow and rest a little more on the couch, snuggling up with her oh so comfortable pillow. :-)
If you are looking for a gift to give a child in your life that they will use and love on a daily basis, why not consider a Sleep Zzz pillow. They may question why you are giving them a pillow for Christmas, but when they start using it, they will fall in love with it like my girls and I have, and be so grateful for this wonderful gift. And, remember, there is also an adult size available, so you can gift Sleep Zzz pillow for everyone in your family or on your shopping list. :-)
