My daughter, Savannah, who is a huge cat lover, went crazy when she saw this book. I have shared in past posts that she really wishes she could get a cat, but both her little sister, Bella, and my mother are allergic to cats, so we can't get one. We also also have two dogs and 2 birds, so I have enough animals to care for. So, instead, Savannah has an overflowing collection of cat plush toys and an ever growing cat book collection. She was so excited to add this book to her cat-themed books as she doesn't have one for Christmas.
Based on the cover art, you can see that the cats are getting into a lot of mischief for the holidays. Savannah had to linger on the cover art admiring the different cats and how beautiful they looked. When we started to read this story, Savannah couldn't stop saying "oh, how cute," at the different cats, that make up the twelve days of Christmas story. This story follows the same flow as the classic "Twelve Days of Christmas" classic, so she was able to follow along and finish the lines on each page based on the repetition and carry over from the previous pages.
Savannah had so much fun reading this book with me, and told that this is a must have holiday book for cat lovers of all age...and, I have to agree. It was really cute and a fun read, especially with all the cute cat illustrations. So, if you have a cat lover in your life, or like fun takes on holiday classics, then you will want to check out "The Twelve Days of Christmas Cats" by Don Daily today.
