Available Now Digital and
On 4K Ultra HD™ Combo Pack, Blu-ray + Digital, & DVD on October 24
Did you see The Emoji Movie when it was in theaters this past summer? Unfortunately the girls had a cold and we had to miss it. But, as soon as we found out a DVD release date we had it circled on the calendar as to remember to purchase. Thanks to folks at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, as they kindly sent along, not only the movie to watch with my girls, but also some great swag from the movie including plush characters and the movie for me to give away to one lucky reader -- read on to learn how to enter to win this fun Emoji prize pack.
The girls have been sick so this movie came at the right time as they were getting bored with the movies and shows we had been watching. And, I didn't tell them we would be getting the movie early, so they were surprised. Usually we would have waited until Friday for family movie night, but I knew the girls couldn't wait until then, and shhh, I really wanted to see the movie, too. :-)
We popped some popcorn, gathered up a few of the Emoji plush the girls have accumulated and snuggled up on the couch for the movie. My youngest, Bella, gave me the run day of what the movie was about, as if I had no idea. And, then as the movie started playing, she pointed out all the emoji and told me what they were. A few months ago, she picked up an emoji book that talked about the different Emojis so she had read up on them she said and was in the know. :-)
If you have been under a rock and haven't heard about the emoji movie or saw the official movie trailer, here is more information about the movie and the trailer, to give you a little background on this fun family-friendly movie...

Doesn't this look like a cute movie? The girls and I had so much fun watching this movie and were rooting for Gene to find Jailbreak and get himself fixed. And, then as the movie progressed we found ourselves feeling bad for Jailbreak and wishing for a happy ending for her, Gene and even high five. I will not tell you how the movie ends in case you haven't seen it. But, I will say that the movie wasn't boring at all. It kept the girls and I engaged from beginning to end. We really like the part we they found themselves in the dance app and had to dance their way to safety by copying a character voiced by Christina Aguilera. Even though the girls were sick, they mustered up enough energy to get up off the couch and dance along with Gene and Jailbreak.
I was so happy the girls and I were able to see this movie, as it has been on our must see movie list since the summer. And, it disappoint and was worth the wait. We have only had this movie for a few days, but have already watched it a handful of times. The girls can't get enough of it, and could watch it on repeat if I let them.
With Halloween fast approaching, I have some fun pumpkin stencils to share with you and my girls from The Emoji Movie.
How would you like to have a pumpkin carved to look like Jailbreak, Gene or even Poop? Well, check out these free pumpkin stencils to download and print off.
Then, tape them to your pumpkin and carve away. You will definitely be a hit come Halloween night when trick or treaters come to your door and see your cute Emoji carved pumpkins sitting on your porch all lit up. :-)

In addition to free pumpkin stencils, I also wanted to share FREE coloring and activity sheets you can download and print out for your children.
I shared the above coloring pages with the girls the other day before they found out we were getting the Emoji movie to watch. They had so much fun coloring the coloring pages, and now my fridge is decked out with their best Emoji works of art. :-)
