PBS Distribution to release "L.M. MONTGOMERY'S ANNE OF GREEN GABLES THE GOOD STARS" on November 7 (Review)

One of my favorite shows growing up was Anne of Green Gables.  And, when I wasn't watching this popular series on television, I was reading the classic L.M Montgomery books by the same name.  One of my most treasured gifts I ever received was a box set of Anne of Green Gables books.  I still have the set to this day and can't wait to pass it down to my girls to enjoy.  There is something about Anne that girls of all ages can relate to.  I used to love watching this show with my mom, and now get to shared this new spin on the classic best-selling L.M. Montgomery story with my girls.  

On November 7th, the folks at PBS Distribution will be releasing  “L.M. MONTGOMERY’S ANNE OF GREEN GABLES THE GOOD STARS” on DVD.  This DVD, which has a run time of 90 minutes first premiered last Thanksgiving on PBS, so it is only fitting that it releases to DVD around this same time so that families who tuned in and enjoyed it last year can enjoy it again this holiday season.  I remember watching this with mom, as he decked the tree with the girls.  It was great being able to watch Anne of Green Gables again, not just with my mom, but with my girls.  My oldest, Savannah, took a liking to Anne and has sat and watched some of the old Anne of Green Gables episodes I had recorded as a kid on VHS.  

If you watched L.M. MONTGOMERY’S ANNE OF GREEN GABLES THE GOOD STARS last year and have been eagerly waiting for its release to DVD, you will be happy to hear of the Nov. 7th.  Or, if you have been a fan of this classic series through the years and missed the latest installment, you will definitely want to pick up this DVD and watch it.  What better time than the holidays to welcome Anne of Green Gables back in your home for your family to enjoy.  It is great to see a show like this span so many generations, and each time a new take on it comes out, you can't help but think back to your childhood and your favorite Anne of Green Gables episodes.

"PBS Distribution announced that they will be releasing the “L.M. MONTGOMERY’S ANNE OF GREEN GABLES THE GOOD STARS” on DVD. The second installment of the classic best-selling Lucy Maud Montgomery story of a free-spirited teenager on Prince Edward Island returns after the successful Thanksgiving 2016 premiere, which reached more than 3.2 million viewers.

“L.M. MONTGOMERY’S ANNE OF GREEN GABLES THE GOOD STARS” will be available on DVD on November 7th, 2017.. The run time is approximately 90 minutes, and has an SRP of $19.99. The program will also be available for digital download.

In this installment, Anne Shirley turns 13 and faces complex situations with friends, learns from inspirational adults, and experiences an escalating friendship with Gilbert. Her free-spirited nature is challenged by her perceived need to be sensible, a journey fraught with confusion and some unfortunate — albeit amusing — mishaps.

The program, written and directed by John Kent Harrison will once again star critically acclaimed actor Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert, along with the return of Ella Ballentine as Anne Shirley (“The Captive”) and Sara Botsford (“E.N.G.”) as Marilla Cuthbert.

Additional cast members include Julia Lalonde (“Catch a Christmas Star”) as Diana Barry, Kate Hennig (“Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould”) as Rachel Lynde, Stefani Kimber (“Remember”) as Josie Pye, Drew Haytaoglu (“Looks Just Like the Sun”) as Gilbert Blythe, Kyle Gatehouse (“Source Code”) as Mr. Phillips and Linda Kash (“Cinderella Man”) as Mrs. Barry.
