Last year my husband was in the market for a car. Because he has a long commute for work, he wanted to look for a car that was good on gas and mileage. With that being said, I was thinking he would be looking to get a 4-door sedan, seeing that we are a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids). After a few weeks of looking my husband said he found the perfect car and bought it. To say I was surprised when he pulled into the driveway the first time was an understatement. Instead, I was shocked. Wonder why? Just take a look and keep the thought of a family car in your mind....
Does this look like a family car to you? We had talked about getting a car that was good on gas and mileage, but I didn't think I had to remind him that we needed a back up car in case my car was in the shop and we needed to bring the girls places. I took a look in the backseat and couldn't believe how tiny it was. My husband was running a list of all the pros of the car, and said that the salesperson as the dealership said she could fit two car seats in the back. "Yeah, right" I thought as I looked at my husband. I told him that they will tell him anything just to get a sale.
We grabbed the girls' car seats from my husband's old car that were in the garage and tried to install them. After swapping around car seats from the four we had, we were only able to get one car seat to fit in the car. And, the only way it could be used it when there was no passenger in the front passenger seat and that seat was pulled all the way forward touching the dashboard. But, this wouldn't work because we have two girls. I looked at my husband as I shook my head. And, his response..."At least it wasn't a sports car." I guess I should relieved, right. That is a guy for you.
Thinking that this was a lost cause and that the girls would not be able to ride in this car until they were teens and out of their car seats, I received an email to try out a new car seat alternative, that answered my prayers.
