If you don't give your child new pajamas at bedtime on Christmas eve, but want to start this fun tradition, then you will want to check the cute collection of holiday themed pajamas and book sets (some even include a plush toy/doll) available over at PajamaBooks.com.
I stumbled across PajamaBooks.com a couple of weeks ago when I started my search for the perfect Christmas Eve pajamas to get my girls. When I saw their "Twas the Night Before Christmas" pajama and Book set, I fell in love, and had to reach out to the company to see about a review and feature. They were kind enough to send along a sample and even offer a discount code (read on to learn more) for my readers. And, a few days ago, our pajama and book set featuring the classic "Twas the Night Before Christmas" story arrive at our door.
Savannah was quick to ask for the pajamas, while Bella was content with the book, as they opened it up and started flipping through the pages, only to be mesmerized by the vibrant and playful illustrations that filled the pages of this now treasured holiday book.
There is nothing different about the story -- just the illustrations are different.
They are done in a more playful way that will get even the youngest of listeners excited as you read through the pages on Christmas Eve. And, be prepared, as my girls kept asking me to stop so that they could take in all the detail of the illustrations, the first time we read this book the other night. And, since then, they have picked this book up off the coffee table and will flip through just to admire the illustrations, or to find inspire as they draw their own version of Santa and his 8 reindeer, which I will be sharing with the folks at PajamaBooks.com as they spotlight young artists' drawings based on the books they sell. You can learn more about their Drawing Gallery here: http://www.pajamabooks.com/
So what sets PajamaBooks.com apart from other retailers who pair pajamas and books as a set? Not only is their selection of pajama and book sets for both boys and girls (includes baby and toddler sizes, too) unique -- think Olivia, Pete the Cat and even Angelina Ballerina, to name a few, but the overall quality of the pajamas is amazing.
The pajamas are well made, and Savannah was quick to comment on just how comfortable they felt. She kept telling me to feel her arm and leg, so I could see how soft they were. :-)
And, if you look closely at the picture of Savannah in the pajamas, notice the designs...these are the illustrations that you will find in the "Twas the Night Before Christmas" storybook which comes with the pajamas. How cool is that? Your child gets to hear you read the story to them at bedtime, and they goes to bed wearing their comfy new pajamas, which when they look down at their them laying in bed, will be reminded of this story, as they drift off to sleep.
I always share the importance of reading to your reading on your blog, and I as a parent make a point each and every day to read throughout the day with the girls, especially now that they are learning how to read on their own, as well as at bedtime. I also love those unplanned times during the day when the girls pull a book or two off the shelf and ask to snuggle on the couch and have me read them to them, as we cuddle up under a warm blanket, and enjoy this quality time together.
Reading is important and by starting to read early (I began while the girls were in the womb so they would recognize my voice) you will develop a love for reading in your child, that will grow with them.
I am so happy I had the chance to review a pajama and book set from the folks at PajamaBooks.com, and will definitely be bookmarking this site as my go-to site when birthdays and holidays roll around. As you know you can never have enough pajamas and books. And, being able to wear your favorite book on your pajamas is even cooler. :-)
Head on over to PajamaBooks.com now to check out their selection of pajama and book sets available, including the following holiday titles (these styles range in price from $45 or $46, depending on the pajama size)...
